China has blocked the etherscan .io. It is a quite good initiative because they have created a firewall to protect the users from risky platforms or sites. China has created and brought up a lot of good and big projects. So this time they will make something up also and maybe it is in their know about what to do next. So maybe we all should be waitful to see next improvements.

Sincerely I dont understand what happens with China vs cryptocurrency; some times we receive the bright news and information for China inters to cryptocurrency, and some times we receive a bad news from them!

Ethersacn is 100% blocked in China and that can be only accessed by using a virtual private network (VPN). Reasons are still unclear why China is blocking etherscan.io but it’s believed the website was blocked because some within China were using the Ethereum blockchain to share content that is censored by China’s firewall.

That's really a bad news especially for everyone who work or have investments on that site. Sadly that's a very useful website although they can use other site but for me that's unfair.

I think they can use a VPN connection so they can still access the website, because the losses they experience may be many, because the site is already well known and is already familiar in China.

Well i gave also heard about this and trust me i feel really sad. But i dont understand why it was a necessary step of the Chinese government?it's something related to their privacy but what is it?

China is one of the countries influencing the crypto market and one of the most mining countries for the currency, so I think it is taking this step and prohibiting websites for some reason and not because it does not want its citizens to work with encryption.

China is always trying to tightly control the financial affairs of its citizens. This is China's internal affair. Bans are weapons of the weak. There are enough countries in the world that will gladly take China's place in the crypto world.

In my opinion, this may only affected Chinese people and the crypto market did not experience a huge fall or anything like that, they also still can use vpn if they are smart enough.

This is really bad , I don't really know why the China took such decisions, but I think there are trying to ban some activities of crypto, but this is not right there are actually creating their own Cryptocurrencies and there are blocking the activities of other cryptocurrencies in their country.

Really, it is unfortunate news for encryption in general and for users of cryptocurrencies in China in particular. I do not know why China that imposes restrictions on encryption even though it contains the largest number of bitcoins as they say.

Well it's very hard to know whats china is doing. Sometimes news says they are launching new Crypto coins and now ban the ethereum Blockchain explorer. Sure the people of china would face problem due to this but as you know there is always a alternative for any issue. Vpn or Vps would be the solution and Chinese aren't stopping at this in my view.

It is very sad news for the ethereum miners and holders of the china because ethereum has hold 2nd rank position in terms of the price and its total cap and traded volume. I think they are using their own strategy to create their own cryptocurrency.

I've seen this news, and it's really amazing! As it seems to me, this can contribute to a big disaster, and a possible cover for the cryptocurrency. I'm not quite sure, but this is an interesting move on the part of China to block access from all addresses!

China is a country where there are no freedoms and democracy, look at what they are doing in Hong Kong it would be more than obvious that the Chinese government would create major obstacles to bitcoin and its adoption in China because bitcoin is not currency issued by the Chinese government and the Chinese government cannot control bitcoin

The Chinese have banned all digital currencies besides the digital yuan they are slowly introducing. It seems that China with their CBDC will create a totally centralized system having outlawed all other options for their citizens restricting their financial freedom. 

CBDCs of other countries will also require backing by their governments and perhaps more countries will move to ban cryptocurrencies just to promote their centralized version of a digital currency.

It is bad that China is blocking access to so many websites and the block to etherscan makes access hard to see wallets and information about smart contracts in Ethereum, but there are more explorers they could use, still perhaps china will block them too. This is another china restriction on cryptocurrencies.

The chinese still own and trade cryptocurrencies despite the ban. Their governments knows that and since they can control almost everything they cut access to this useful source of information that most ethereum users open at least daily. It is another step to cut the citizens of China from economic freedom.

China is cracking down on money laundering and with this excuse they block all cryptocurrency users from etherscan. Lately they arrested Star Xu  that is the OKEx owner and this exchange blocked withdrawls. My hopes are that China will step back with this crack down and they can still find the criminal money if they co-operate with other countries that have blockchain analytic software and they could allow everybody access crypto.
