Will bitcoin ever stop being number 1 in CoinMarketcap?

for those who don't know about coinmarketcap you can go on google and search for "CoinMarketcap" that you will know. In any case, Coinmarketcap is very important for all cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin is in first place with the largest Market Cap. Let's look at the positions:

 

 

 

as you can see the difference in bitcoin market cap in relation to altcoin is very big and knowing that altcoins in the last few years have been created by many scammers and many people have lost money because of altcoin, will there be some altcoin that could take bitcoin from first position of coinmarketcap?

you may be right, but looking at the screen shot that I posted and from the article I read weeks ago it seems that Tether has the greatest potential to take ETH out of second place and maybe one day Tether will almost find bitcoin in terms marketcap. So far the only one I see that can someday rival bitcoin Is Tether

We should know first how cryptocurrency ranking system works on Coinmarketcap, last time I was getting surprised to see Toilet paper token on the top of list. Anyway in the near future, if the next genuine currency comes with huge potential, it would definitely reserve the top spot on CMC.

The market cap of the coin/token is the price of the token X the total suply of that token if we take the bitcoin dominance is the largest domininace in money markets so it is so dificult or  impossible to the bitcoin become lowest marketcap or other coin takes its place tank you .

For now Bitcoin is leading the market due to it's huge total supply and high price among all other Crypto currency. And for new projects to survive in such huge competition is really difficult. And maybe in future if a project with huge potential and greater audience comes it can overtake Bitcoin. But for now Bitcoin is the leading giant of Crypto market.

I don't think that will happen. Bitcoin will remain first among cryptocurrencies for a long time in my opinion, because the major investors in the crypto world have great interest and confidence in bitcoin as the best cryptocurrency and the demand for buy Bitcoin is big in the crypto market

In fact there has no much hopes that bitcoin can drop its rank in the coinmarketcap, but anything can be happened because people are creating their coins in order to competite with bitcoin.

I don't think so the bitcoin is the most strong and valuable cryptocurrency i would not be easy to defeat the bitcoin in his own game bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies.

There is always a chance that another cryptocurrency will take over the first position. A few years ago Ethereum came close and at some point Bitcoin Cash and XRP were really high in valuation and showed they had a chance to do that. I don't think that it will happen right now though. For an altcoin to overthrow Bitcoin from it's position, it will mean that this altcoin was adopted more than Bitcoin and had really good improvements done in their software. 

Perhaps Ethereum 2.0 might have another chance.

Nothing can take the place of bitcoin, even if ethereum 2.0 has been launched it can not let ether to still take over bitcoin but can only slightly affect ether price. Bitcoin with over 60% dominance will always be at the top.

I think it is difficult to get a new currency whose price is higher than the bitcoin price because it is the most popular currency and it is the first currency that appeared among all cryptocurrencies.

I do not think that any currency can overcome the Bitcoin currency because this currency is still the most expensive and most popular among digital currencies and the price of the rest of the currencies is linked to the price of this currency

No my friend, this will not happen! Bitcoin is the leading crypto currency because its the first to be created and it has the largest price than all other coins. Companies and business owners have increased bitcoin value in a large percent because they use it in their services/ products more than all other coins, thats why i believe bitcoin will remain the first.

Yeah bitcoin is the leader coin on coinmarketcap, and we all know that's because bitcoin have highest coinmarket trading in the world, so we can even see the difference  between etherm and bitcoins trading amount, they have big different, but if any coin manege to rich this position then it will lead the coinmarketcap, but it may take longer time.

No, because this coin is already well established coin and has great market cap and even the popularity is very high and most of the developed country accepted it as payment method. Even if this coin will loss their is bitcoin cash as a backup. So, it's very hard and need lots of year to stop bitcoin being no. 1 cryptocurrency.

We do not what the future holds, but with the high level of bitcoin dominance now, no coin is even struggling to dominate bitcoin, not even ether. As for now, this is not possible in any way.

Bitcoin cannot be dead as you think because it is the mother of cryptocurrencies, but the only thing that can remove bitcoin from top ranking is demand and supply.

I don't think it will happen. Bitcoin is father of all crypto currencies. And it also have high trading volume then other alt coins. If bitcoin will go dead it's mean crypto will dead.

It is will go a very long way for that to happen but it is not impossible. Tether and ETH can move to close the gap to some little inches in years to come, you can see a higher trading volume of Tether compared to BTC; I am not saying that is the determinant but definitely a good sign to see a higher market capitalisation in coming times closer and competing with Bitcoin.

It seems to me that no, because bitcoin is already like gold, only digital, so it will always be above all cryptocurrencies
