Bitcoin was in turmoil on Thursday as it saw other large sell-offs in traditional markets.

The digital currency, the most marketable, has fallen below $ 5,678 - the lowest since May 2019 - shortly before publication. This represents a 25 percent drop over 24 hours, according to CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index

In your opinion, what are the reasons for large  sell-offs ?

The price is down, we didn't see a situation like this since a long time, and the reason is known, and for me I was waiting for this, because I knew it, all the economic world is going down, so why bitcoin will survive?? Especially when we see that most of the sellers a'd traders in crypto are existing in US and China and many big countries who are empty now because of this virus

The global economy suffers from all levels, not just Bitcoin, because of the Corona virus, because it has become a major threat to the world. Fortunately for you it is a condition that develops in the cold only.

Indeed, l agree with your opinion. Every problem happens right now cause of virus. After this problem everything will be ok. It influences also the price of BTC. l would say it is so chance for us to hold some coins till end of this problem.

All viruses disappear in hot weather. They take a coma and then come back in September.
 Medicine must discover a drug that

Due to coronavirus business activities are stopped and markets are going down. With the fear of crisis people collecting cash for bad days. So they are selling crypto coins also. But everything will be at right place after somedays.

Well i think it was just manipulation for the people. It happens in the market prices gets drops but eventually it recovers in sometimes. Im pretty confident that the prices will get recovered very soon infact bitcoin is already showing some steady rise in price.

I think its very clear about those extensive sales of Bitcoin, before there are many people who invested on cryptocurrency market bought Bitcoisn with their money, but now with this alert situation many people are exchanged their Bitcoin to recuperate their money because they need it.

Reasons for the large sell off can be the coming Bitcoin halving event because traders or crypto investors are thinking like price of Bitcoin will be increased in the market after Bitcoin halving. So they are buying and storing BTC when the price is low in the market.
