Now you can Send Bitcoin as easy as Sending an Email

Recommended Posts

This kind of development and step is really good because this will lessen the difficulties of people in sending bitcoin to other people or in their other wallet. I hope that every exchange and wallet will implement this so that people doesn't have to waste their time waiting.

Coinbase created something useful that can help with Bitcoin's adoption, although I don't agree with having it patented and don't allow the community to be able to code and develop it into something more useful. I think that everything inside the cryptocurrency sphere should be available for all in order to progress, and patenting innovation does not help in that way. They don't need more money as Coinbase is already producing billions every year. I feel that they should had just given it to the community.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has been granted a U.S. patent for an invention that makes sending Bitcoin as easy as email, literally.

The patent, granted on Tuesday and filed in March 2015, details a system for users to make cryptocurrency payments with email addresses linked to corresponding wallet addresses. The sender makes a request to send cryptocurrency to an email address, and the system automatically transmits the agreed amount – so long as they have the required balance – from the sender’s wallet to the wallet corresponding to the receiver’s email address.

The system takes 48 hours for the transaction to clear, once the receiver has confirmed the payment. Cryptocurrencies not in use would be stored in a secure vault that can only be accessed by the email address linked to the corresponding wallet.

That will ease the sending and receiving of bitcoins. There are many chances of malware attack when sending bitcoin as we have seen in history that due to malware attack the bitcoin address have been changed. So it will be very easy to verify the email address instead of verifying the long bitcoin address.

I think we got this service a long time ago. We can make internal transaction through email. It's totally free. We don't need to pay any transaction fee for it.

That's a real big improvement for the market. I think this will increase the acceptance of crypto payments in the market. People tend to leave crypto behind as it is experienced difficult but this will make it easier.

Exact. Bitcoin transfers are simple fast and efficient. With just one address you can send thousands of dollars and without any problem. It is something wonderful.

This is really good, but because of all this complication, it will be difficult for some people to use this method. We can use the wallet address for transfer. This is easier in addition to that this method may also be unsafe.

Well, it is getting better day by day. But not as easier like an email. Because a small mistake can cause you a bigger loss. So, be very careful while making any BTC transactions. Because it is an irreversible process.

This is a good idea yes of course, but is this very safe? is this secure? they will not hack your email?..... Is a good project but needs be developed with precaution, because hackers are very attentive. Because when the things are easy to do also are easy to be hacked.

Yes. That's good Bitcoin transactions through email are very convenient. There is no chance of making a mistake in Bitcoin transactions via email.

But email has many issue like email which is unknown by the server directly goes to the spam and after sometime the link in the spam email will not work because those links are destroyed.

This is pretty cool, because now a lot of cryptocurrencies have a lot of confirmations, and if the blockchain network is also loaded, sometimes my crypto coins go to me for about 12 hours. It really pisses me off. I looked at the roadmap, very good developers! Very good plans, looks very promising. We will believe that everything will be so simple!

This is good news for cryptocurrency users. I haven't used this method yet, but I'm glad to see it. The alternative is always good.
