Amazon recently issued a statement claiming that the Crypto era at Amazon has started, this mean a massive adoption by the financial community.
Amazon, one of the longest-standing online purchase systems that exists, begins to give way and confidence to the new financial system that is being developed, this is an example how large companies are accepting cryptocurrencies as an essential part of purchasing systems and sale of physical assets and attraction of important capitals.
Now it becomes easier for many, buy on Amazon if you have Bitcoin or Litecoin, this also implies an added convenience for many Amazon users.
Amazon implements competitiveness by forcing many houses to acquire global products to upgrade, Amazon setting the example creates an environment of competitiveness that, on average, gives more life to the world of digital assets.

I am very happy with this news, because I often see Amazon sites and are interested in buying goods there but are always hampered by available payments. Adding ryptocurrency for payment alternatives will allow me to shop on Amazon

Somewhat true and somewhat not true. Because Amazon does not accept Bitcoin directly. I think there is a third party company who is willing to pay Amazon in money. For example, a customer wants to pay in Bitcoin, that company will be in-between customer who pays Bitcoin and the Amazon, that company will then accept the Bitcoin and then what it will give to Amazon is the local currency, not the Bitcoin.

It seems that they'd also do what most payment gateways here does in my country, and immediate conversion of cryptocurrency to pay items on their right price. This is just larger, on a global scale, and could potentially generate a paradigm shift on online shopping platforms to adopt cryptocurrencies too.

This has not anything to do with amazon accepting anything, but third party browser addons that allow payments with cryptos. There are now at least 2 of those, more coming i am sure.
