I also heard that a currency named ( ogn ) tied up with Amazon as a payment option .

This is correct, but many people do not know how to make low bitcoin transaction fee, this can be a problem for them. But as for the banking aspect, not good for international payments but cryptocurrencies  is a very good substitute.

Its a fake news. the amazon don't accept bitcoin as payment. A lot of cryptocurrency projects wanted to offer amazon for a partnership but amazon declined.  If Amazon could accept bitcoin, that would be a great incentive, and there would be more convincing evidence of the utility and effectiveness of bitcoin in becoming the world's most popular payment method.

From the news sources that I read, Amazon has not accepted Bitcoin, it's just that payments can use the moon extension, the extension is only a bridge to allow payments using Bitcoin. Moon is an application that runs on this browser, which connects your Amazon account with your Lightning Network (LN) wallet via the LN Moon Payment channel. LN itself is a special protocol to make the payment process using Bitcoin faster and cheaper.
