litecoin is a bitcoin fork so all the basics are the same, the only things that the litecoin foundation did is to increase the maximum supply, reduce the blocks confirmations and reduce the transaction fees.

the difference is I think that bitcoin is more superior that litecoins because in bitcoin the prices is high. I think that litecoin can be something with good stability because their prices is stable and not going down rapidly.

The different between these two is that bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrency as it is the first one to be created and it is popular while as Litecoin is an altcoin and it's not that popular as btc.

Usually coins but differ in capitalization and method of production. Also from the technical side of the algorithm if it is mining. The total number of coins and coins in circulation.
