Such incidents are often discouraging to users but the internet is full of such scams and hacks. A virus that changes the bitcoin address is a new news for me but i think using a good wallet might take care of such unauthorized changes.

Before sending bitcoin I always cross-check. I think most of the antivirus they are not genuine I will suggest you that don't use any type of antivirus if you want to enjoy a crypto-currency business with your laptop

I have also had an experience like this before though mine was due to carelessness. I mistakenly copy a wrong btc address of another person. After transferring to the wrong person I realized that it was a wrong address. After that accident, before I make any transaction, I have to check twice to ensure there is no error.

I did that mistake once or twice, now i'm more careful and triple check my address, aslo the use of the copy button instead of manual copy is more convenient.

Crypto are totally decentralized and it's transaction system are anonymously. No one can track the transactions of it. If you make wrong transaction then i think you won't gey your fund back. Also you cann't report on police station about it.
