Nigerians Can Buy Bitcoin From Stores!

Recommended Posts

Hello dear members. Good thing for the Nigerians because they can now buy Bitcoin from stores using their fiat currency (Naira). With that, I think more Nigerians will be interested in investing in Bitcoin as it's very easy now for them to get Bitcoin and cash it out using ATMs available in Nigeria.

In Nigeria, such purchases may work, with the help of fiat, local money, you can buy bitcoin. Nigeria is going to this to be closer to the blockchain. I read that news channels are most interested in countries like Nigeria.

That's a very good improvement for the Nigerians. For extra information, I heard that Abu Dhabi is going to do a similar thing. But now, everything is off work because of the Corona Virus as we have noticed.

This could be extremely good on wealth distribution. I wonder how many of Nigerians are informed on bitcoin and what's the adoption rate in there. And what is the government's stance on this is going to be.

There's this ever existing site of the localbitcoin, as I know nearly supports every country available to but and sell Crypto, as they use the system of peer to peer and a contract agreement with a middle man, for cheating to be avoided

About 60% of adult population of Nigeria do not have bank accounts and they could not buy crypto currencies through bank transfers. So cash is the main source for them to buy bitcoin. And they buy bitcoin from stores with their local currency. This availablity of bitcoin on stores is due to love of Nigerians for crypto.

This is a wonderful thing, I am happy for them to buy crypto from the stores. Actually, it is a wonderful thing and a great jump in the blockchain world. I hope that this matter will be generalized in all countries.

There are two sides to this. It is nice that the opportunity is opened for Nigerian people, but:

  • Do people realize what they buy? (BTC is NOT a savings account)? and
  • I heard there are many scammers taking advantage of the naivety of Nigerian common people (there was even an item in the newspaper on this)

So more opportunities is great, but that also opens up the opportunities for disappointment and misuse. Especially for people who have no financial background, and don't really know what investing means.

This is a great step for the adoption of Bitcoin in Nigeria. I'm always advocating that ATM's must be installed in many hotspots in Africa capitals and major cities, as Africa is developing at rapid rates and cryptocurrencies can help merchants and citizens transfer funds easily. Nigeria in particular is the most advanced economy in Africa. Lately we've seen even Jack Dorsey wanting to move in Africa and promote Bitcoin there.

This is amazing and facilitates a lot of purchases and sales, because brokers often take high commissions, which is why it is best to buy through mini banks and exchange machines spread across the streets.

As far as I know about Nigeria, I has been easy before to buy bitcoin. Most Africa countries do not ban cryptocurrencies. Nigeria particularly did not ban cryptocurrencies.

This is good news for Nigerians. Nigeria is considered one of the African countries that supports cryptocurrencies and has its own cryptocurrency. This makes the country offer a service of converting paper currencies versus cryptocurrency.
