Yes, this is true, not putting an avatar for your profile is wrong in my opinion and it may receive a warning point because of that, so I advise all forum members, especially new members, to put an avatar for their profile

Yes my friend you are correct that there is a rule here that we need to put an avatar on our profile here in this forum and doing that thing shows us that we respect that rules here in the forum but I do not like other member here that forcing other members to show their true identity in their profile picture so, let us show some respect to the others so that we gain it too.

Well uploading your preferred picture on your profile no doubt add beauty to your profile when visited and apart from beautification, it is an order given from the above (moderators). So to remain Peaceful and stress free from being given warnings point, I advice you to upload yours as soon as you can.

It looks like you and the others are misinterpreting what the moderator has said. The lack of an avatar is NOT against the rules. In here, he gave an EXAMPLE of what a typical spammer's profile would look like. Most spammers caught post short/low quality content, post in rapid succession, and are too lazy to put pictures on their avatar. He did mentioned about the avatar, but you should look at the posts in the example first. Or maybe you don't want to look because you realize you guys are guilty of it.

 

Of course there are bound to be exceptions to the norm. There are cases where members with avatars are posting nothing but shit, members posting useless content but do in on an irregular basis, and members posting long text but are found to be off-topic/useless under closer inspection.

 

There are plenty of good posts from users who don't care about appearances. What, are you going to put negative rating on it just because he/she doesn't want to use pictures on his/her avatar? Don't judge a post by a lack of an avatar, judge it by the contents instead.

obviously , everyone should be put their profile picture . Eveyone can used any pic ( personal , bounty logo or any other as they want ) .if we haven't any logo this is look strange . hopefully specially New member give a look on it .

I agree with you. It is essential that all members in the forum put a profile picture. To be honest i think that as others are reading comments they look at your picture before they look at your name and sometimes the picture helps them to identify which member it is without checking the name because they have seen many post by that user previously. Naturally as humans we gravitate more towards pictures than words. Therefore these profile pictures will be very helpful. 

 

Personally i was unaware that this is against the rules though, so thank you for updating me on that rule.

Yes you're right if we put our any photo in display picture then our account looks eye catching, and members also easily identify our posts, but I don't think its necessary when anyone not set this display picture then give negative point its not good idea,

While I didn't remember there was such a rule, this was still one of the first things I did on my own when I registered on Cryptotalk. I do not think you will get a ban or a warning if you don't add an avatar though.

That's right every member must choose an avatar that he like if you don't want to use any the cryptotalk give a first letter on your name so don't worry about it.

I have spent some few months in the forum and I haven't seen where such law is stated, can you edit and qoute the law in your topic?.

Once you registered in the forum, the first letter of your name is used as avatar and I used that for months before changing it to the present one. I didn't get a WP and ban as you can see by the way.

Whether or not a member sets up an avatar on his profile should be his choice. I already presented my case on a previous post, but to make things clear, we should ask the moderators @Bigpat, @Desais, @epidemia to issue a statement. We shouldn't just leave this topic alone, because it can prove to be dangerous if some users were to start giving negative ratings to useful contents if the author doesn't happen to have an avatar on his profile. If what the mods say contradicts this topic's contents, then it should be locked to prevent further misleading the other users.

Yes, I thing every one should use the display picture but appropriate one. I think it's identity and other members would easily remember you with your dp than you username because avatar is more easily to remember.
