Hello my friends. So as you can see in the picture below, there are three different signs on the left side of each topic.

The white message bubble means you haven't commented on that topic before. The black one means you have commented on that topic and there are new replies or comments. The gray one means that you have commented on the topic, but there's no new comments posted.

Most of the members didn't understand this before, but these symbols has a lot of meaning where they allow you to see if yiu already replied to some topic or not, you are right about this, and thus is the only way to avoid many replies to one topic

Thank you my friend this information is really useful useful because many members do not really know this and at the beginning I was having a hard time knowing the topics that I commented on and this feature reduces the number of comments and unhelpful posts

Thank you for that, yes is very useful! because some times when we write in such topic we have already visited and participated days ago and then suddenly we encounter it again, and then when we finish our our comment will see it added to our first post, so is good to use your tip  to avoid that.

Also i was under the impression that the grey mean that you comment was still under review from the moderators, but i realize now that it is not that, and therefore thank you for clarifying that for me as well. Also there is a lock sign sometimes before the chat-bubble, which means exactly what the sign is, that the post is closed (locked) for further replies and discussion, meaning that the subject has already been covered thoroughly by the community and no further replies are needed.

It true the white shows no comment has been made, the black shows that topic has been commented on already, and the gray show the comment has just been made recently.

Actually I already know that if you have commented on a topic then this bubble filled with color but I did not know about the difference of black and grey bubble. After reading your post I came to know that if the bubble is black then the topic is recently updated with a new comment and grey bubble shows that topic is not updated recently.
