Investment in Petro coin

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has said that You can use the Petro digital currency to buy oil and gold, so, the country will sell oil and part of the gold it produces for its national cryptocurrency petro in the future.

I wanna invest in this cryptocurrency and I need your advice.

Petro is very fishy. They launched a presale, then changed crucial information in the whitepaper. They changed information 2 times and later were even caught plagiarizing DASH's GitHub repo. That was very unprofessional and it made serious investors to look away from the project.

Lots of countries are not in good conditions in terms of finance to invest)))))))) I do not know the real situation of this crypto for nowadays but I know that lots of attempts of the government were to make the delivery of oil and gold to other countries for crypto. But their crisis in my opinion is an artificial one like lots of crisises in some other countries. I do not know would I invest in this crypto or not - too many strange points thus crypto had in not so far past, but what is really interesting that Petro crypto supposed to be backed by the country's oil and gold, intended to supplement Venezuela's bolivar fuerte - national currency. Because of U.S. sanctions this process had lots of problematic moments. So I do not know... The price of Petro has fallen down very much... In my opinion and I agree with you that it is better to learn more in deep this token before some actions or decisions. And it does not depend on the type of coin. Everything it is better to learn in deep in order to have higher chances not to loose assets.

Thank you for this important information. Actually, I did not know about these matters because of my lack of research in currency, I think it is not an appropriate time to invest in Petro,  it is better to learn more about it before any decisions.

I think the system of Venezuela government is not a good option to take for investing in any thing that offer this government at any time they can ban this coin then you will be a victim of loser, so be careful.

Reading about it, it is still not considered as a currency. And what I think of it is it's only tagged as a cryptocurrency, without actually being a 'currency' in purpose.

 

Think of it as a commodity investment, just the unit is changed to Petro, instead of per barrel basis.

I don't think that you can invest in Petro, unless you have Venezuelan citizenship. There is no exchange trading petro either, as far as I know off.

I 've also seen an airdrop for Venezuelans that require KYC .

Yes, if you want to invest in Cryptorency, you have to prepare mentally and sufficient knowledge. Because many feel that they are failing because of lack of knowledge, you can invest in Crypto and can benefit you if you understand.

This is very good news. The petro coin must get a very strong support after that kind of news. But it may not effect that much because the country is so small and don't have that much capture in crypto market. If any other big country also accept this it will be more better.

I think I am hesitant to investto this coin especially it is not valuable enough like the value of XPD (petro coin) worth $0.000004 but I will take consider that you can exchange it to oil products.

Looking at Venezuela’s government credit, you know that the oil coin is a scam. It rely on a bankruptcy of state credit to support and their country’s legal currency are certain and have no value.

I haven't heard about Petro coin yet and I think it's just an idea being studied and applied but it hasn't really started

I wouldn't be so eager to invest in Petro as I'm afraid the government somehow controls Petro and it's price. I don't think that's a good idea.

Petro was the most hyped coin when it launched few year ago. It is backed by oil just like a fiat currency which is backed by gold in some countries. Also like tether which is backed by US$. So the coin which is backed by any important asset is good to invest.

Besides if the idea was not borne to circumvent sanctions from the U.S., it would have been a noble idea, but America is not a world power for nothing and I see a lot of hiccups in the way of this coin. I think the adoption of one of the already established coins would have been a better option for this project because of concern for transparency.

Unless you are in venesuala, investing in Petro coin is not advisable but rather invest on coins that will guarantee you a great future value. Unless you want to use all your hard earned money for buying oil. I even encourage buying the gold, because gold have a nice future.
