The first altcoin I ever had in my wallet was ethereum in yobit exchanger and I was able to make some profit after some months, I bought when it was $110 and later sell at $210. Investing in some certain altcoins like litecoin, dogecoin and ethereum is really profitable and they have have a low transaction in yobit exchanger.

Ethereum was the first altcoin I bought, I do not mine because my country has no stable electricity, and to get mineral, you will need to order abroad, my country is also hot.

Ripple or xrp is the first altcoin that I started to use or encounter. And the project is still going smoothly. Actually, nowadays, XRP is being popular and many are using it and invest to it because they see it to as a good coin for investment and its value is good for investment because it is very low so investment is accurate with the help of it.

I am not sure if you do know if you know how marketcap works but XRP is one of the most expensive coins out there, it isn't valued low at all.

If you get scammed, certainly it is a cloud mini sites. They always depicted themselves very profitable but most are scammers. The legit one I invested on last three month was even later became scam. They make use of ponzi to profit in a way people (investors) will lose.

Wayback 2015 my first cryptocurrency investment was through cloud mining which is I bought a mining contract to mine Bitcoin and Dash technically Dash is my first altcoin holding and then followed by Ethereum and Litecoin in 2016.

@Dorjoy12 Though I had started with Bitcoin but I have also fallen in scam like you did. I had invested my btc that I had earned through referal program hardly in a hype site. At that time I was beginers to the field and after getting recommended from a friend I hurried to Invest in it and after 2 days the site get fade out. 

Currently there are huge number of projects that claims to use smart contracts but they aren't audited and are just scam hype site. So everyone should keep in mind about that too.

If i wouldn't count my first short Darkcoin (now Dash) failed try, my first was Flappycoin, that project is obviously dead now and it was basically a joke to begin with based on Flappy Bird game.

 

I had no idea what i was doing, so i mined it and got some free airdrops from dev i think. When i tried to sell it on Cryptsy (former exit scam exchange) the price was under 1 satoshi and i had to wait until there was an LTC pair to trade it with. And funny enough, i actually managed to make some money with it.

Ahahah, nice story bru))) My story started a little differently) in the years 2014-2016, I was trading in steam, but at one point, my scheme went downhill and I had to withdraw my savings from steam using different methods, one of these methods turned out to be a bitcoin transaction. As I remember now, in those days, every receiver was heard: "buy bitcoin, this coin has a great future!" and I decided to invest some of my money in bitcoin, I thought then, let it be) and as soon as I bought bitcoin, and at that time it cost about$ 18,000, it fell to such lows that I did not expect to see at all) in the end, I sold it (Yes, I admit that this was a mistake) and bought all sorts of rubbish) but I do not regret it, I got experience and such mistakes more I won't!

@Ridam feel bad to hear so that you had scammed too like   me.. Actually beginning of crypto life is really hard as we dont have enough knowledge and experience that time.. Also when we first come in crypto world we did not get any guidelines about how to get rid of from scammer.. But now everything clear to us so i think we should help now beginners so that they also dont get scammed like us..

Exactly @Dorjoy12  at the beginning I have faced a lot of problems as in my country Crypto content and people working in Crypto field is very difficult to find. Rarely some people knows and understands about it. Right now beginners are getting huge benefit and information from the forum and good topic here so they mustn't miss this opportunity.

one of my earliest buys in crypto was the coin DGB. it was when dgb was still under 100 satoshi back in 2017, it had a magnificent year as it went up to 2000 satoshi, investing in small coins always pay up good.

DGB is a famous coin so it rose relatively quickly but this is not the fate of all small coins. For example, I invested in Yoda but it went down and I lost money. The same story can be said for so many other coins and tokens. Small coins are good for lucky investors. When a coin is new and has low volume, the investment is always riskier.
