Yes there are fake crypto wallets but there is also legit ones so l  suggest you should use Goggle to  search for the necessary information of any wallet you intended to used so that you will be free from scam wallets but for me I used coinami and trust wallet and they are good and legit.

Make an enquiry about a particular wallet before you use it so as not to fall victim into scammers there are alot of legit wallet you can use which are trusted and many people make use of them like trust wallet , coinomi, blockchain wallet and others.

To know whether your wallet is legit or not, it's simple. First you have to know there are sites to discover that, you can search for reviews about the sites in trustpilot, quora forum, YouTube videos reviews and above all, the Alexa reviewing site.

Hi my friend @rchres, you can check that your wallet is legit through searching in google.You can also find some articles relating to your wallet on the internet.You can also check it yourself by making small transactions ,if you see any problem it means that it is not a legit wallet.I think the most legit wallets are Coinbase,Blockchain .You can sign up on these wallets .

There are a lot of fake wallets in the Cryptoworld and you have to be extra careful when choosing one because you can become a victim of hackers and scammers if you don't make good research but for more security I will suggest you make use of the blockchain wallet since it is the most popular and used among the existing wallets.

I have not been able to understand this point but there is one thing to imagine , there is a lot of information online there are so many ways to check and true to it try to verify with people you can trust that is the only way I think it can work other ways that is a fallen pro.

Well, not all of the videos on youtube about to a specific wallet is not promoted, there are some videos which is giving some warnings that this wallets are scam, so for me, I'm searching it on YouTube first before i proceed.

Research about your wallet. Search your wallet name on google and youtube. If there is any scam with your wallet you will get the information. Personally I will recommend you to use top wallets like myetherwallet, trust wallet, metamask, coinbase etc.

Thanks for your post, I didn't even know there were fake wallets.  I use a wallet only on the advice of a person I trust and who has been in this field for a long time.
