Sending coins/Tokens to wrong address

Crypto is a decentralized patform. There you cann't track and control the transactions. In this sytem if you send your fund to any other address which is correct then you cann't cancel the transactions. And if the address will wrong then transaction won't be comopleted your fund you will get back automatically.

I think that is still hard to be possible.

For example if you want send Bitcoin but you accident to send it to Litecoin address.

The first step all wallet have protection to avoid that, so the wallet will instantly reject the transaction, that is also in every exchanges and other websites.

But if you send Ethereum to wrong address but still on Ethereum wallet, it will going to the address you send.

That coin will be there and never burn.

If the address exist on which you have send transaction mistakenly then it could be in use of some one. Or if it is not then it will be lost forever. Its the case of high care about sending transactions

Sorry my friend you can say bye to your coins, if you send to wrong address there is no way of getting them back. You would have to know who is the owner of that address, but that's impossible

I never experience this kind of situation because I check it very carefully. AFAIK the send button is not working if you put different coin addresses but sometimes it could work on several coins. For instance, you can send LTC to a BTC address. If we do such a mistake, just let it go.

Your coin is safe but not yours anymore. You can try to ask the exchange nicely to process the deposit into your account. That is your only hope, my friend.

This was happening with me with Maximine coin. I send 500 mxm coin in wrong address and I lost that coin. Now im verify two times when I deposit or withdraw.

once the tokens or coin sent to wromg address it cannot taken back..and also exchange will not be resposible for that.

for that you have to double verify the adress before sending the tokens or coins.

Some exchanges allow you to define a whitelist with allowed addresses. If everything works as it should, the exchange should then block any address which is not on the whitelist. That will not help you though when sending money directly from your wallet.

One time I send Dash to dogecoin address.  Another time I sent bitcoin to a dogecoins address and the wallet didn't alert me that a mistake was being made in the process.  Not sure why but these days I think it impossible to make such a mistake and you keep your coins safely in your wallet until you need them for spending.

There's a few possibilities in what happened to your coins like Bitcoin when sent to the wrong address. When the address is unintentionally incorrect like example wrong character was typed so maybe the transaction will be not accepted. But if the address is correct but this is not the address you want to enter there's a possibility that the coins will be lost except if the owner of the address is your relatives or friends.

This is a disadvantage of cryptocurrency. If there is small mistake in your address than your money will send to another address. You cannot do anything to take your money back.

I think if you sent coin to wrong address it will not reach their and will be lost in crypto sphere so cross check you address before sending any coin and make sure you are sending right currency

If it went thru, then maybe you have sent it to other persons wallet.

It is very low risk that this could happen. 

Why? Because the site will send you confirmation email that you have been withdraw amount of coins, if you do not receive it, then how come the transaction will be successful? Thats my only opinion.

This can be done by mistake most of the coins go out of the wallet and remain in the network unclaimed forever. It is rare to find wallets in which when you enter the wrong address do not make a transfer.

1. If you transfer to the wrong address, the transfer will fail.
2. If you transfer to the correct address but not the address that you want crypto to be sent then the coin will automatically arrive at that address because the transaction cannot be canceled . CMIIW 😅

if you mean transfer to another's coins address it would burn but if you send to coins own address another person will receive it.i suggest you to always check memo and address twice

If the transaction confirmed then say goodbye to your coin. People need to focus on when sending money. This is your money and you're the one who's responsible for anything happen with it.

I think the token has not been back again and the token has no value now. it is in the block chain but is not shown to any wallet if you send any coin to any wrong wallet address.
