I think when creating this coin, they did not have in mind that they were creating the revolution of this century. This is how many of the great events of humanity happen. I also think it is bigger than what we are seeing now. The purpose of bitcoin now is to become the largest store of value, and to unite all people, wherever you are, you can buy a fraction of bitcoin. And the governments are afraid of that, that they do not depend on their currency to make money. Popularity is on the rise, and in the next few years we will see many more people using bitcoin as a payment method.
