In my country it is not illegal, the government here has not yet announced the rules on cryptocurrency, so crypto still does not have illegal regulations. certainly if cryptocurrency is used for illegal activities then it is likely that cryptocurrency like btc or LTC can be illegal.  I haven't heard about illegal LTC.

Litcoin is nothing else but a cloned version of Bitcoin tweaked to have 2-3 different lines of code and nothing else. If it becomes legal or not as a cryptocurrency it depends always on how regulators see Bitcoin first. The market is all about Bitcoin and the rest cryptocurrencies are not relevant.

Any currencies will vary the legalities in every country as there are countries that are open to crypto currencies but they didn't legalize the use of it yet and there are other countries that opposes the existence of crypto currencies and they consider it as illegal. 

 

Litecoin is a good coin as it has potential to grow also, so I wonder if many countries will try to legalize it also.
