Altcoin price depends on BTC price in the cryptocurrency  markets.  I have also seen price decreasing for altcoins when BTC price is also decreasing so BTC is a key player in the markets.

When the price of btc falls, all other coins follow the same strategy, because as far as I know, they are all interconnected with the market. I am think this was a problem created by the coronavirus and it made people feared for worse so there was a big sale for cryptocurrency during these times. Together it was the stock markets that dropped and it was trillions of dollars that some lost and others made.

From what I see in the market altcoins are dropping too much when Bitcoin does even 1% down. They are all connected with bitcoin and it happens because of the big market cap of Bitcoin and the fact that many altcoins do not have a purpose but are only speculated by traders.

What bothers me is when Bitcoin is rising we see every useless shitcoin rising too for absolutely no reason, just some stupid whales think it is fine to pump them. I don't know a lot about that time as I joined crypto lately but I have seen the charts and it was an awful experience for all cryptocurreny holders. I hope never again we will see such a terrible price action with prices dropping more than 50% in just a few days.
