Bitcoin related transactions banned by Alipay

It seems to me like some kind of move to keep hindering the use of bitcoin and other cryptos in China. Perhaps, and not surprisingly this could be also seen as an attempt to pave the way for the new digital Yuan could gain popularity among users of digital payments.

This is interestingly surprising, I see no reason why aliplay should ban all bitcoin involve transactions except there's something suspicious there. Although am hoping he will soon take off the ban and all will come back to normalcy again.

This is rather unexpected. If i am not mistaken i read an article a couple months back that stated that one day China is likely to turn to digital currencies as their main source of payment. So it is rather strange to see a country that is so pro-crypto and its use, even attempting to create their own crypto, banning the use of crypto on that specific site. And with it being alipay, this is one of the largest merchants in online china shopping. This is very surprising, but perhaps they had some issues with their payment system and as a result with extreme volatility, merchants were making losses rather than profits. Perhaps they will reconsider with the use of a stable coin instead.

Well as a China base company they have to comply with government policies and  need good support from own country. The crypto isn't bad but the users who created the mess meets the end with innocent people who are not use BTC for payments. This could be temporary ban and the government start thinking after pandemic to Allow BTC and other crypto currency because the danger isn't ended of corona. The digital currency is solution of problems.

I heard that in several cities bitcoin is illegal because with bitcoin they make purchases on the deepweb and transactions cannot be traced, so they occupy it on the deepweb, which the government does not like, so they do not receive transactions in bitcoin because  used in black markets.

It is unfortunate news that a large online shopping company in China has banned Bitcoin, and I do not know the reason, perhaps due to problems within this company or they are thinking of launching a cryptocurrency of their own, but I think in the future that most online stores will enter the world of crypto.

It is probably another Chinese method to block cryptocurrency trading inside their country. I don't think they will succeed but they can keep trying. Banning is not the answer to anything. It is creating black markets where it is more difficult to locate the profits from illegal activities. I don't know why China does not see the truth in it.

A lot of online wallets and payment gateways for fiat they still don't accept crypto, its very sad because crypto adopters are increasing day by day. I hope Paypal will influence a lot of companies that owns such wallets to accept crypto so that they can increase they volume too.

Sure @sarahyes it seems there will be many reasons behind this. I also believe such companies will accept cryptocurrencies but it is a matter of time, and a depth study about crypto so that everything and every plan can work perfectly.

This news is out of date now, but it is good to see the developments that Crypto got within a whole year. About two months ago, Paypal, the global giant in electronic payment services, announced its acceptance of Bitcoin as part of its paid services, so I think this will have a great positive impact on the rest of the companies. I think the ban will have no effect on the crypto market, the crypto market has its own share in the world and is growing. In my opinion, many companies will be scrambling to ask for payments using bitcoin and cryptocurrency in the future, if now there are companies that prohibit transactions using cryptocurrency then the company will regret it.

I am known the chinese government are always against the Bitcoin, and they are did so many to disable the usecase of the crypto inside their country, only to have their own digital currency and promote this instead. I am hope that we will find changed govenment view about Bitcoin as it is a good opportunity to be part and not be exclude of crypto revolution.

As matter of fact I also read such claim in early this year of 2020 the news came to me as ugly development though no official confirmation if bitcoin payment via Alipay has been cancelled till date. We hope they should reconsider the benefits and allow the system to prevail

It is really disappointing to see such companies banning cryptocurrencies. they don't realise the future that come with the use of cryptocurrencies and its benefits. there are many thing that the users can gain from through the use of a decentralized currency like cryptocurrency. I do not think that such news will affect Bitcoin because Bitcoin has achieved special success without such sites, so there is no fear of Bitcoin, as there are several other companies that rely on Bitcoin or digital currencies in order to send or receive their money.

This is private policy and I think if they do not feel secure and safe with bitcoins because of presence of scammers so they have the right to ban it. But they will lose a lot of transactions in this way

I think this is normal, and this is due to the large difference in the exchange rate of digital currencies from day to day. Perhaps all currencies have a non-fixed value and the price of products cannot be fixed according to them, but digital currencies are swinging much more than fiat currencies, and this, in my opinion, is due to the control of cryptocurrency market whales in the price of currencies by pumping or withdrawing large quantities of them suddenly.

it's very sad to see such news , recently it looks the same may happen with paypal although it's not been long since they allowed deal with crypto but now many users that stored cryptocurrencies in their accounts are locked and can't withdraw them , still so far crypto is not accepted and it may took a long time before people and sites start to accept it

This is really strange. How can transfers be blocked. I do not think that someone can block digital transfers. They cannot enter the blockchain and stop the transfers.

I think they have already started now and I am sure most of the ecommerce gonna use this payment option because they are very easy and people can easily pay them with out any problems and every hour like in any timee.
