My hard drive with 13 btc...

Recommended Posts

You just don't need to depend on your hard drive to protect your private keys, this isn't right at all, you can save it even in Google cloud.this is a lesson learnt to us

I had a similar situation I bought a fake hardware wallet and I was stolen 1 bitcoin, which I sent there, now I always check the wallets that I buy.

I also had this situation, I mistakenly sent bitcoins to my old address to which I don't not have access for a long time and lost about 0.6 bitcoins.

Who the hell has 13 BTC on a harddrive only and not on a paper wallet? Sounds like your fund management was a disaster waiting to happen. Live and learn... IF your story is even true in the first place. Seen many beggars like this trying to be clever and get some "donations" off hearty people.

Sorry about that, didn't you have a copy of your private key backed up somewhere else outside of your hard drive?, maybe you should try recovering the data of your hard drive if it's possible, sometimes hard drives that are broken are still have some recoverable data on them and there are some people that do the recovery for you for a fee.

I also had a similar situation, I accidentally dropped my hardware wallet into the water, which had about 2 bitcoins on it, now I only store coins on my laptop, which is much harder to drown

Seriously, you suppose to care for hardware wallet than phone, my phone has even never fallen inside wallet since I started using it as a wallet, it has never even fallen down again after I have wallet with cryptocurrencies on it. Hardware wallet should be protected not to talk of the one that worth 2 bitcoin. That is not just an excuse.

This is a huge amount of bitcoin. Did you lose it all? You should have used other methods to store these currencies as well as keep backup copies of passwords and private keys because this is a large amount and you must keep it safe

Hi to everyone who just clicked on this post. Two weeks ago, my main hard drive with my bitcoin wallet was just ... destroyed (it burned out) ... I lost 13 bitcoins ... it's so much money that I just cry about it, like "WHY ME? " "WHY I DIDN'T WITHDRAW BTC YESTERDAY?". Has anyone had a similar situation, if so, please share (

But you can recover your coins with the wallet, when you program and register the wallet you have to use there site right then they will give you a backup plane so you choose the backup plane, why don't you use that then??

Yes, once I sent bitcoins in the amount of $ 300 to the wallet of the Ethereum Classic coin and not to the bitcoin wallet, then I was very upset because the exchange could cancel my withdrawal, but the support responded for too long

The first thing wallets do have nowadays are back up please, I am not sure if hard drive wallets do have it but hardware wallets do have it. If hard drive wallet don't have it, the coin store on it will have private key which can be used to recover the wallet on other wallets that support the coins. So, I can not expect someone that have 13 btc nit have have such knowledge so think it can be a lie.

That's what i said, if a person knows about hard drive wallet and have 13 bitcoins then he have to know that hard drive wallets have a backup wallet keys, and before creating the wallet i am sure the wallet gives him the backup wallet because he have to link the hard wallet with online wallet. and yeah its a big lie. i don't know why they lie about things.

13 Bitcoin this is really a huge amount and we need more than 10 years to collect 13 Bitcoin if we have good experience in trading and in other field .

you need to contact a hardware specialist for a good solution . I think there is very little chance that you got your money back .

@betelihem I do not know much about hard drive wallets but I know it will have a private keys to individual coins store on it and it may even have a general recovery phrase. And because hard drive wallets are not secure like hardware wallets, going online for transactions can easily be compromised. For saving up to 13 btc, I think the person do not know the difference between hardware wallet and hard drive wallet. Because for such huge amount, the owner will even prefer harder wallet like trezor or the ledger nano which is more hard to hack and contain seed phrase that can be used to recover back the wallet at ones.

You are right, i think the person confused the difference between this to, or maybe he is just ling, i mean any wallet have recovery mode and if the wallet didn't give him the recovery option at firs then the wallet may be a scam, but if a person have 13 btc i think he have much knowledge about scam wallets hard drive wallet (cold wallet) and online wallet.

guys this topic is a joke, 100%. first of all he said that he lost 13 btc because his hard drive burned, and we all know that to recover you cryptos you need just the seed.

second, someone with 13 btc in his wallet know, for sure, how to keep safe his funds while backuping the seed.

100% fake topic

Didn't you have any back up?  It was 13 Bitcoin and you are giving up hope? Why? Which wallet were you using? Didn't you take back up? Contact to the wallet company. Take all the possible action to get it back.

You know some are just ignorant and not ready to avoid errors in cryptocurrency, this has always be their regret. So it is better we should always have back up so that we will not regret later

Sorry for that, but haven't you try to write the seed or doesn't you have the private key to the wallet with that you can sweep the wallet into another one.

I also had this, I accidentally threw a hard drive with 0.5 bitcoins in the trash, thinking that there was nothing on it, and remembered that there were bitcoins only 2 weeks later.

You need to tell us about such exchange, in fact, you can make it a topic in the exchnage section so that people will mot have scammed.

This is disappointing, my friend. You had to store those coins in an excellent wallet or separate them so that you wouldn't lose them once. 12btc, you know that you have a high value and underestimate the conditions that you can get, you are not interested in what you have. As for me, I have little, but I maintain it because it is what I eat and I lost and lost several keys, but I learned from what I went through.

my dear friend after reading your post I understood j.  You lost 13 bitcoins and suffered a lot.  The reason for the jar is not to keep the hard drive with BTC.  So I'll think that.  If there is any way to get this money back, try it. And this has never happened to us.

thank you
