Adminstration we need a solution on how to request our topics to be Locked

@Desais Sorry to tag you sir, i only do when it is an important matter like reporting bugs and all that and you are the moist active moderator here.

I'm one of the good reader of replies, especially on my own topics, and some topics just needs a one strait answer so after a short or long discussion i finally got an answer i needed an answer that could help people any reader of that topic.

 

So here is my suggestions;

on the reactions i request to be added another icon to mark reply as the best and once reply is marked as the best the topic should be auto locked to admin will lock it manually if he see the need.

OR you can form any other form if request to lock the topic.

But how did the locked topics i see got locked at the first place, how does the request work right now.

Hi, you can use my tag as much as you like, I understood your suggestion and it’s pretty good, the problem is that there is no functionality that would automatically lock the topics after you gave this reaction.
We lock all topics in manual mode and you need to find a solution that will be convenient for both you and us. Perhaps the authors of the topics should change the name of their topic in order to show us that it needs to be closed [LOCK] or problem resolved [SOLVED] or other modifiers.

There are admin and mods who monitors topics and replies (Posts) so if they see the need to lock any topic they do so. Here i want them to give us a solution for us users to have ability to request topics to be locked .

Okay, i understand the functionality needs a work of a programmer, so [SOLVED] at the end of  the title should be fine, but it needs to be announced by a moderator or admin.

Okay, I will offer it to other moderators and then we can add it to the rules for recommendations, but all people should be familiar with this and it will take a lot of time for users to do it

That's a good suggestion we can easily lock our topics when we feel or know that we gotten the answer to our questions ask. And it will be a good privilege to know such function work cause it will reduce the number of copy and paste users.

Brilliant idea but i think they should not be locked only the best replies be marked so that people can know  and who knows there comes even better reply later on. 

What do you think @Desais?

This is a forum I believe and the fact you ask a question and have gotten an answer you preferred doesn't mean someone else cannot benefit more from the comments under the post too. If you need a one strait answer, maybe you can put a question on your status. Tagging @Desais on this isn't too good

If topics can be locked i think that would be a great idea, so that spammers cant abuse the forum anymore. and the only one who can unlock the topic is the one who created the topic.

It is possible to block themes!

 

(1)I have done it, so far without problems.

Now is best, especially when there is the lock button.

 

But before that button, I made a post explaining that I had obtained the answer, in that post I used the report button and used the first option.

Yes this is good suggestion, and I read all of your replies, you and the moderator, and I think he gave you the right answer about what you asked in your topic, it is true that sometimes we need to mark some reply as the best one, like in quora site if you know it

Whoah, so this feature has finally been implemented without most of us noticing!! Since when!??

 

But do we have the guarantee that the threads we locked on our own will not be deleted? This is to prevent creating duplicate threads in the future without any compelling reason.

 

Are there no bug issues with this feature?

 

And can we unlock our threads once locked? If for example we locked it by mistake?

If this will be happen, how will be possible to be unlock it automatically? Its better if this is a manual to lock the topic by the admins and mods here in this forum but this is a good suggestion and i think it needs to elaborate more to know by all members here about this.

That's very nice suggestion but if we add a new button where we have suggestion of lock or unlock .Where members react like reputation then it locked and unlocked by members.What you say about this.Because i am seeing many topic filled with excessive posts and i want to contact the author to lock them.I want to preserve the beauty of topic in forum.So it is best to lock the topic after  reasonable number  of reply @teminalibug

To be honest i did not think about that, it is a good point, but then maybe if i could post on status update if it is open to other users, but he might be scared of spams. I will try it out next time i report anything.

Thank you. Some of us are learning so much from conversation going on in this forum and seeing different perspectives to it from people like you. There are topics I also believed should have been locked like topics on Bitcoin prices from last year but maybe the forum wants newbies to understand Bitcoin price movement

@Desais they have added the lock feature now i can be able to lock my own topics, as I'm going to do with this one it is not useful anymore.
