I don't reject Coinbase wallet but the best online wallet is blockchain. It is the safest online wallet and has been more in the industry than most other wallets. In terms of security no online wallet can compete with hardware wallets because anything that has connection to internet is more likely to be hacked. But the advantage of online wallets is that you can work with them faster and they offer easier accessibility to your funds. You should decide which factor is more important for you. Security or speed.

coinbase definitely no since it is a custodial wallet, and so you don't own your funds.

for the safest wallet i suggest an hardware wallet, like trezor and ledger. hardware wallet are the safest thing you can get in this crypto world, there is nothing more secure than this

I think you can add trustawallet and coinomi too dude. These two are also good to use for the altcoins for storing it. 

They are actually proven and tested too. I guess there's a lot of community now are using this things all over the world now.

In my experience blockchain and metamask wallets are the best wallets.Because these wallets ate very safe and having them is literally impossible.Also the payment system in these wallets is great.

Metamask and myether wallets is only for erc token not for coins holding wallets because many others that gave us all kind token and coins storage like trust wallets.

There are too  many wallets but may O suggest that Hard wallets like the ledger Nano S is a great with alot of features.

The wallet are so much online to safe the coins but i just safe my coins in both like myetherwallet and also in Metamask because these are the best and good options to safe the coins and also i safe the coins in the exchanges.
