What is the different between alts and Bitcoin?

i think to me the biggest difference that is bitcoin is not owned by any company or anything but all the altcoins are controlled by owners who have big chunk of the supply.

There are altcoins that like bitcoin they have a guaranteed future, but saying altcoins are of low cost, is nit true there are alts whose price exceed that of bitcoin.
