Bitcoin has no total amount.it is added everyday by mining.but mining has a feature called halving which reduce it's mining block reward into 50%. which results to decrease it's supply on exchanges.that causes it's price to increase it's value.

Its simple, By making it limited amount it will create scarcity in the long run and the demand will increase so as the price of each bitcoin. It was well design economic model and this was copied by most cryptocurrency in the market today.

I think bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamato didn't know that one day bitcoin will be the most valuable coin in the world. He thought like poor and fixed the total supply.

I think Satoshi Nakamoto personally evaluated the coins in a smaller way, giving them a little bit of coverage.  So I have argued that ETH is definitely a piece of Ethereum, and bitcoin's cut-up is especially Satoshi.

I have no idea what exactly Nakamoto relied on to improve the amount, as well as the value associated with Bitcoin, so, your answer will be found, so, he only understands it clearly.

If satoshi Nakamoto would have not create a limited supply for bitcoin then most likely it's price would be a only a couple hundreds dollars at maximum right now. A limited supply means a higher demand, and also he didn't want bitcoin to be like cash (unlimited, because this would create inflation)

This is in order to make the price rise and that whatever happens, the demand will always contribute to making the price higher, putting huge quantities of bitcoin will never contribute to its price increase.

The amount of Bitcoins is not unlimited! That is the whole idea behind the anti-inflationary nature; unless there are drastic changes to the protocol in the future, the amount is fixed, and will stay fixed.

If this was not the case, the whole stock to flow theory would not make sense.

I think when we see the price story of Bitcoin we can understand why Satoshi Nakamoto created or fixed a specified  limit for Bitcoin, this is about to reach a higher price, maybe for this reason in 2017 touch 19400 or 20000.
