You will get a higher reputation if someone gives that symbol to your comment but you should know that it will not increase your earnings but it can make you a trusted source of information as people will search for your comments on different topics.

Right, this reaction tell you that your posts are useful and reader has appreciated your posts. I think these reactions also show your reputation. Because if you get high positive reaction it means your posts are good and you are making good efforts in the forum to provide knowledge to others.

The reputation currently is just a symbol you get from the members, as it encourages the member to provide important and distinguished posts, and it does not increase any profits, but I think it will have a great importance in the future.

You don't get a reward in financial terms, but in appreciation terms. It means that someone enjoyed reading your post and probably found it useful. Or that you helped him somehow and he wanted to show it to you. Most members don't use it much though as it doesn't profit financially.
