Yes dude  you have to research about a project whether it is long lasting or make profits or not so after getting some experience and know how of it then you can go for investment in this and that project would give you good results.

I think that with BTC there is always time if it is long term, but of course if you want to try other cryptocurrencies be careful and see if they are reliable projects or if you want something reliable, guide yourself in the list of the first cryptocurrencies that comes out in coinmarketcap.
