Libra being backed by big companies obviously targets the users of facebook and will be more mainstream. Bitcoin is still unknown to most people so to put it in the right perspective it's like libra will be the equivalent of google chrome compaired to bitcoins onion/tor browser.

The difference between Bitcoin and Libra is that Bitcoin has been around for over 10 years and the Libra project has not yet been launched. Bitcoin futures have long been in existence and options have been launched a few days ago. So Bitcoin is developing and a really valuable asset, and Libra is just a plan

If you take a look at Bitcoin and Libra whitepapers, you will soon realize that these coins have fundamental differences. Bitcoin is based on anonymity and decentralization but Libra is supposed to be revealed by Libra Association which consists of 28 independent organizations that can control this coin. Even their blockchains are different. Anyone with proper mining tools can mine bitcoin and validate transactions but only members of Libra Association can validate Libra transactions. So, Libra is only a cryptocurrency on the surface! From the inside it is more like a fiat currency!

Libra coin is nothing but a stable coin own by centralized organization. They made it to counter the use of bitcoin in favor of libra. They are trying to use to thousand of userbase of facebook as the main driving force of this cryptocurrency. But most people are not naive to use that libra token for their online purchase.

Bitcoin still numbah 1 😄

Bitcoin and Libra work by totally different methods. Bitcoin being the flagship of cryptocurrencies, is truly decentralized and work on a democratic principle. On the other hand, Libra is not a cryptocurrency since it is not decentralized.

Been centralized does not mean that it is not a cryptocurrency, all it need to be is cryptographic.

First difference between these both is Libra is completely centralized and Bitcoin is decentralized Libra could be controlled by one person or company and its still under process but bitcoin is already in market wich very big community now its already working very softly with the help of big community and Libra is under some controveries because of few features so its need good time for any good response.

Bitcoin provides a fixed supply of coins created a decade ago during its development, and its price is not related to any conventional part of the financial system. On the other side, Libra is backed up by a fiat currency basket and will always have the same number of coins as the size of the fiat pool.

quite right, the libra will be. have a lot of use if everything works out and is worthy of capitalization to be among the best in the top five but will not replace bitcoin in the near future.

Yes libra is a stable coins, of course it does not stand a chance against bitcoin on that, but maybe it will have more usability than bitcoin.

Here is one difference that I know of. The ideology of Libra is a kind of currency that will be controlled by some groups, why Bitcoin is decentralized, whereas the total sense of cryptocurrency is be decentralized

Libra is the currency for Facebook and it is a stable coin and Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency utility, and that is different with token like erc20

It is still too soon to tell if Libra will be a stable or volatile coin because you need to wait for Libra to enter the market and stay there for a few months so that its real value becomes apparent. However, we all know that Libra is a totally centralized coin and there is a high chance that its supply will be controlled strictly and this can prevent from fluctuations. It is said that Libra coin is supposed to be supported by assets and I think trading with this coin will not be as profitable as bitcoin.

The key difference between Libra and Bitcoin is the permissionless versus permissioned blockchain. ... Libra will be implemented as a stable cryptocurrency by pegging it to a basket of “low volatility” assets such as the dollar, euro, yen and bonds, and through creating the Libra Reserve.

Yes, I believe that Libra will be linked to the dollar and Microsoft's financial assets, and therefore it will be a central currency subject to the dollar and to Microsoft. In general, it can be said that it is under the control of the US government.

Numerous individuals likes to libra provided that libra coin effective dispatch bitcoin break his past record, that is the reason I think bitcoin increasingly famous then libra.libra is very well good for bitcoin

Governments do not like Libra and will not approve Libra, facebook has shown several times that they are not trustworthy, they have already leaked data from their users, they have already been accused of selling data from their users, governments are afraid to give too much power to facebook because of facebook dark past

The first difference between Libra and Bitcoin is Libra will be more of a token on facebook and it will be highly centralize compare to bitcoin that is decentralize, the centralization of Libra will make it more of a digital currency than a cryptocurrency.

The Libra coin is expected to resemble Paypal and Bitcoin but with some basic differences:
The Libra currency relies on reliable real assets and currencies, which makes it more stable than a currency in Bitcoin.
- The Libra coin will also target users who do not have a bank account, but Paypal is done through electronic payment services, which are provided that there is a bank coverage.
- The Libra coin will be covered with real assets that are less risky than other cryptocurrencies, and the user will be able to convert real money to digital and vice versa without the need for a bank account, unlike a configuration currency that cannot be bought with real money or converted into real money.
- The Libra currency will be used in many international institutions such as Uber, which you can pay through, and some discounts will be applied when using the Libra digital currency for payment.
Libra is a digital currency that can be used for trading in Facebook, WhatsApp and Messenger applications, and bitcoin is only traded on specific platforms.
The Libra cryptocurrency will have an independent value and is linked to a basket of currencies, Bitcoin being a digital currency with an oscillating value.
Libra is a digital currency backed by 28 companies around the world, and with a configuration that is not supported by any official authorities.
- Libra's currency will be low-cost and faster in procedures, but Bitcoin is a high and slower currency in conducting transactions.

I like libra but also bitcoin is the top although there are basic differences between the two currencies but BTC digital and trendy also libra has its value
