As far as i know in the passed few years, the price of bitcoin are very low and you can't earn huge amount of money on it. But in 2009, bitcoin will became popular and the price of it increased up to $20000 and that's the reason why bitcoin became valuable.

Bitcoin value came with the realisation of the technology that supports it, added by the limited supply and the fact that no one would ever have any control over the whole currency. It was generally realised by the people, that this thing has the potential to uproot fiat currency and along with it all the banks, thats when it started growing in value.

Yes when it was introduced it has no such values I watched a video about a boy having lot of btc but he threw those harddisk to dustbin and then a man got it.
