This is not about the amount. This depends on you how much you have, how much you bear to lose, if you can earn profit. 

Because cryptocurrency is all about risk. At one moment price is up and another moment price is down. This is how cryptocurrency works some time. 

So it is totally up to you how much savings you have to invest in cryptocurrency. 

For amount of investment, you can also start with $100.

IF i share our experience and opinion this depends on the financial capabilities of the trader and the level of experience. if you have a big amount you can start with 1000 dollars or little bit less but if you don't have a big capital you can start with 100 dollars and you should also make more research check volume of coin and price of cryptocurrency on market place etc.
