For me hardware wallets are the best because your coins cant be touch as long as its not being plugged in any sort of devices, so hardware are good for storing coins, and for online i guess binance and yobit because the security of those platforms are really good.

I have a Ledger Nano S. Fees are the same as all wallets. There is no integrated exchanges. If you break it, there is no problem if you have saved your private keys.

The best security comes with hardware wallets. Although if you definitely need a desktop wallet, you can use electrum. Although try to download it from official source as there are many fake and malicious versions of it, that will just cheat you from your assets.

I suggest you to use "non-custodial" wallets. They are anonymous, multi-currency and decentralized. If you lose you device, yu can restore you wallet with the security phrase (seed)

I don't have any hardware wallets, but as I know and as I heard, they are much safer then any kind of wallets, I don't know exactly how much the fees are in them, but when you ask me about the security level, I can ensure you that they are good enough and you can store your coins without any problems

Are you talking about the hardware wallets like Trezor , Ledger Nano X etc ? If you have damaged your hardware wallets but still you have the secret phrases of the wallet there are still the chances of regaining the access to your wallet.
