Was Bitcoin real the first decentralized Crypto?

Recommended Posts

I juts found out that Ripple/XRP it's development trace back in 2004 even though it;s release was in 2012,

While Bitcoin was first released in 2009, makes me wonder is bitcoin the very first Idea of cryptocurrency, or there were other failed projects?!!

the idea of crypto has always been there but nobody actually formed the math and put it in a very secure form like satoshi which is why those who had been working on creating crypto stopped and joined the vision of satoshi himself.

Oh, what do you mean by joining, who joined the Satoshis project, or do you mean the other cryptocurrencies?

With what you said, you said ripple was launched in 2012 while bitcoin was launched in 2019. So, bitcoin is simply the first coin.

yes but ripple's development is traced back to 2004 before 2009 on the release of Bitcoin.

Before bitcoin was born, several cryptocurrencies were the forerunner of bitcoin. The only difference is that bitcoin is decentralized. So you should fix your thread title.

Base on what you said, I think bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency to be release in public. Maybe that's the right term to say. But, we can change the fact that XRP is also depends it value on the value of Bitcoin, so, for me, btc is the main source of almost all the cryptocurrency.

I think it is more like the other similar projects ripped off Bitcoin's blockchain technology after seeing its potential. It is possible that they did. Whether or not they care to admit it is another matter, and as far as I know, they don't 🙂 .

Did Satoshi Nakamoto submitted his Bitcoin baby for a copyright? If he did, he'd be suing the altcoin developers by now LOL.

Yes bitcoin is open source and there is no copyright issues on forking it to make it your own.

If you follow the market so closely, Bitcoin only able to move those coins because it has the biggest maketcap, but also if you look closely, sometimes ripple refuses bitcoin and moves on it's own most of the times.

Ah okay, that;s right, but what if there were other coins created before Bitcoin that failed, I mean this blockchain tech is traced far back. https://www.forbes.com/sites/oliversmith/2018/03/23/blockchains-secret-1000-year-history/#10e96e7718d2

I saw you have not yet fixed the title. But it's ok maybe you busy chasing my first name. People make a mistake, and that is why the machine is better than human. However, the human can stick together and remind each other. If you combine machine decision and human confirmation, you will have a decentralization.

i dont man i dont believe to articles and i have also seen videos of people trying to take credit for the blockchain technology after satoshi invented it, they might have the idea of it but they didnt do it so that dont qualify them to claim blockchain tho,

but the fact is still that these projects didnt find any real platform to advertise for themselves even if they existed before bitcoin it self and they didnt have a market to contain them,

So? Why you talking about the old centralized project. The answer to this topic is yes, bitcoin is the first decentralized crypto.

bitcoin was the first decentailed co , if those other projects failed, that means they never got a chabe to become the first decentralized crypto.

It's not that they don't have a chance. But the project was designed as a central cryptocurrency platform. Decentralization was applied by satoshi to bitcoin, making it the first decentralized cryptocurrency.

That is a good point and it is true , but i was asking for you guys to verify with me that there were other projects before even if failed.

You know that blockchain is a technology that is separated from cryptocurrency at the first place right?

That's true that ripple sometimes being independent. But we are just talking about who comes or who is the true first cryptocurrency that is been invented. But I agree to what you have said.

I get that nakamoto, but I was thinking if there was creation of a coin even though centralized, then there might be other decentralized whose development or launch was failed.

I think that is already clear Bitcoin is the first. You say Bitcoin launched at 2009 but XRP launched at 2012.

There is the fact you must know, no matter how long you prepare or when you got the idea. If you not launch it you will still be the second not the first.

Also for Bitcoin is the first decentralized cryptocurrency. Where for xrp maybe can be the first centralized cryptocurrency.

Crypto thing is already known before Bitcoin several years ago, but to make crypto for solution payment never invented before.

That is very much likely, let me google if I can find nay results.

I find this article and there was many attempts, look them in this link https://www.investopedia.com/tech/were-there-cryptocurrencies-bitcoin/

here is one of the attempts;

Quote

Bit Gold

Not to be confused with the contemporary gold-based exchange of a similar name, Bit Gold was another electronic currency system which dates back to the same period as B-money. Proposed by Nick Szabo, Bit Gold came with its own proof-of-work system that in some ways is mirrored by today's bitcoin mining process. Through this procedure, solutions were compiled cryptographically and then published for the public in much the same way a modern blockchain would function.

Have checked the article and most of those pre digital currency development are not using the blockchain, So that concludes the perfect digital money creating success was with the blockchain.

Yes and it is said that blockchain was there before bitcoin, so satoshi might have seen the potential and so created the Bitcoin.

    • The ICE token is now listed on LetsExchange ICE, the dynamic token driving the Ice Open Network (ION) ecosystem, is now available for trading on LetsExchange, a go-to crypto exchange hub supporting over 4,500 cryptocurrencies.   The crypto community can now swap ICE through the exchange widget on the LetsExchange website and partners’ platforms using ready-made crypto exchange solutions powered by LetsExchange. When swapping ICE using LetsExchange functionality, users can choose between a market and a fixed rate. The first one allows the exchange rate for a swap to follow market fluctuations, which might benefit the user and lead to slippage in some cases. LetsExchange automatically selects the best exchange rate among 20+ liquidity providers integrated with its platform to provide the best conditions for users choosing this option. Users selecting a fixed rate can avoid slippage, representing a helpful feature in the volatile crypto market.   To contribute to fostering the visibility and adoption of the ICE token, LetsExchange and the ION team are planning joint co-marketing activities, including an ask-me-anything (AMA) session and an interview with members of the ION team. LetsExchange and Ice Network will announce these events on their social media channels.   Alex J., Chief Product Officer (CPO) at LetsExchange, commented: “We are thrilled to announce the listing of the ICE token on our platform. We are certain that many users will welcome this investment and trading opportunity. We hope this listing opens the door for further collaboration with the Ice Open Network team.”   Ice Open Network (ION) is a Layer-1 blockchain engineered for high performance, facilitating fast, scalable, and unrestricted digital interactions, ensuring user freedoms and robust network integrity. Ice Open Network is also building a dynamic ecosystem for seamless decentralized application (dApp) development, with a platform designed to be censorship-resistant, empowering individuals worldwide to create applications that prioritize user privacy and autonomy. The ICE token powers the ION ecosystem and can be mined through a groundbreaking tap-to-mine app launched in July 2023.   LetsExchange is an industry-leading exchange platform that supports over 4,500 coins and tokens, the biggest number of assets in the market. Along with crypto-to-crypto swaps, users can benefit from DEX and on-ramp/off-ramp functionalities. LetsExchange’s partners can integrate crypto-to-crypto swap functionality through API. DEX and Buy/Sell functionalities are also available through adjustable exchange widgets and Telegram bots.
