In my opinion their target is just to raise funds and mostly fails because without having proper planning. And they are called scams .The other reason is that scammer knew the opportunity and knock at the doors of people who are greedy . They offer them lucrative project and people blindly invest . So as a whole all ICOs turns fails and bad concept raised about ICO

The reasons why ICOs turned scam 

1- lucrative projects that promise a huge profit

2- People blindly invest their money without analyzing

3- No one guarantee that it would succeed as the project was not planned on true research

4- It was an opportunity for all cheaters to create the project as no one was there to ask why they fail. They loot and escape

I think the problem the actually took over the ICOs is scam prone organizations and ponzi schemes, the greed that came with it distroyed the trust that many investors usually have at the beginning of the whole ICO concept

Yeh they have no money to complete a project so they take our money  they have no more money to end this project in this way we loss our money. These scams have no company to introduce their project. They said that they want to complete all ico projects but they do nothing collect all money for their personal aims. They did't reach their target. Its only thing to concern with it that how they complete project if they have no enough funds for this.

They just wandering to scam the people. ICO was initially made to raise the payment in cryptocurrency but they ended up with scam if more then 5 billion dollars and claimed that they didn't reach the target selected

One of the reasons that ICO´s are scam´s is because the scammers know that they wont get caught. Or if they do get caught, they only will get a slap on the wrist. The scammers are looking for free money. Many people are gullible & dont do their homework or investigation before investing. They blindly trust what they see of hear. Many ICOs of yobit had been created by the outsiders of the site as I have read somewhere in this site. Many scammers create their own projects which are even not identified by blockchain. Investing in those ICOs cause the huge lost in trading.

Hello there, in my opinion ICO turns into a scam because they already have a lot of profit, and they don't want to spend any more capital to register on the exchange, promote, and keep the price of their tokens stable in the market, all of which requires huge capital, and makes the profits they get only a little.
