This is one of the nicest features of this forum, it is almost impossible for a person to know every single scam that exists, but if you read the forum and participate in the discussion you are going to find all the ways scammers use to get to your money and when you find those supposed opportunities you are going to know what it is going on and avoid them like the plague, saving you money and giving you the opportunity to actually invest in something that is worth your time and your money and improving your chances of making money in this market.

ICO turns into a scam because they already have a lot of profit, and they don't want to spend any more capital to register on the exchange, promote, and keep the price of their tokens stable in the market, all of which requires huge capital, and makes the profits they get only a little, that is why ICO turns into a scam, or when the token has entered the market, token price price dump by developer or no buyers, aka shitcoins

It so happens that ICO tried to carry out projects that were similar to AltCoins and were redundant. Also the vast majority of the projects became a scam and the truth was very disappointing and little by little investors stopped depositing in ICOs. It came at a time when the objectives set were not being met and they were trying to force these projects in a very exaggerated way. Most users and investors stopped depositing money. There may be projects that are real but it would be necessary to investigate thoroughly.

It's all about people greedy and wanting to deceive each other. If you do not trust your project and your agreements are not solid,it should not come out. After all, even a person who knows little about this business can issue his own token. And it is very easy to market it with a nice website, twitter page.If there is an airdrop campaign on it,fraudulent companies easily sell them.If we can detect them with our good research and if we cannot understand them, then we should go to listed altcoins.

The most common reason why ICO's turned scam because they didn't reach their target found. It is only logical to think that where they get the money they needed to develop the project if they didn't collect enough funds for it.

If the projects do not achieve this objective of collecting all the ico then they will fail as a project and will become a scam

Reasons - money, big easy money. The fraud behind many scams projects was pretty smart or perhaps just lucky. They knew there were thousands of dumb people willing to part way with their money in exchange for "mewn!" as seen in Verge, Bitconnect, and the like so they didn't even have to put in much effort. After that people thing all crypto is scam, but is not right.

ICO turned trick in light of the fact that there existed individuals that were sufficiently keen to make the most of this chance. They realized it was anything but difficult to take cash from individuals since they could without much of a stretch flee with digital currencies, as they are annoynmous

This is difficult to determine, I consider that there are many reasons why the ico can
become a scam. We can find clones that pretend to be these and produce the scam, or simply
the project or company does not achieve the estimated capital and the project fails,
becoming a scam.

It depends on what ico. But in general, I prefer to participate in ieo, when the entire amount of purchases goes into the wall to support the price. As the TON example shows, even the largest icos can fail, so ieo is the safest option.

It is true that many of the ICO's are SCAM. Bu of course not all of them. There are a lot of good projects that you can have 10 X or more with. But of course you have to search to find a good one, but it isn't impossible.

Investing in an ICO is risky because they are vulnerable to fraud, it is safer to invest in IEO, since the Exchenge support the project, and of course, your reputation is at stake, therefore there is less risk of being scammed.

There are ghost platforms  that can mimic legitimate exchanges.

There also fake platforms that invent users in order to make their business seem real.

A record of 7 billion dollars was raised in first half of 2018 through ICO and more than half were scam because of lack of regulations and enforcement security laws.

So, it is advisable to use trusted platform such as for initial coin offering (ICO) in order not to get scammed.

As new people in the crypto world, it is certainly not easy to find out about problems like this, especially crypto projects often use anonymity on their teams, so it will be very easy for them to take away funds from investors.

The world of cryptocurrency, like any other sphere of life, is also full of people who do not want to do anything, but at the same time receive a lot of money.

Initial Coin Offering
An Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is the cryptocurrency industry's equivalent to an Initial Public Offering (IPO). ICOs act as a way to raise funds, where a company looking to raise money to create a new coin, app, or service launches an ICO.

ICOs may fall outside existing regulations, depending on the nature of the project, or be banned altogether in some jurisdictions, such as China and South Korea. Due to the lack of regulation and enforcement of securities law, ICOs have been the vehicle for scams and fraud.

It seems that these operations are not subject to control and are not regulated by laws, and thus it was easy to defraud people.

There is no way to get rid of this problem. If people want decentralisation they need to be prepared that criminals and scammers will use this to take your money away. So in the world of decentralisation nobody can protect you apart from yourself. For that reason it is more important then ever to study and understand the projects in which you are investing

Who is the CEO of this? How can people trust ghost people? Many times people cheat themselves, you have to see who promotes that sale, how and where. You have to study the app a lot to invest. still serves a lot of experience. able that you needed that to happen to you to be able to learn from which program is ghost and which is not

Many ICOs are scammers. They ask to transfer to the commission. O There are many good projects, but they are hard to find. We must look for projects with a reputation. Thus, investing in ICOs is risky in the current market situation.

Sí, había una plataforma falsa de Uniswap, imitando la página de destino de Uniswap, pero robando las inversiones de los usuarios. Eso fue terrible. los usuarios prestan mucha atención a este tipo de estafas. Cada día hay más y más

Sometimes this type of thing also happens on the part of the user who does not know how to read carefully
