I don't think so, as you have seen and seen, btc is the king with lots of coins currently, it came out the earliest and it still holds the best position, so no one can replace bitcoin at all.

You are right that so many coins in the market are are sit and this is true but i think when all the world will except the BTC and also other crypto coins then may be in crypto market so many coins are going to be deleted on that time because not every coin will be legal and on that just some coins are legal not all and other coins will be deleted.

Altcoins disappear?  No, there's no way. 

 

Some of them have more or less died because nobody trades them or mines them anymore, and there are a lot of examples of those, but they haven't exactly disappeared.  Nor will the good ones ever go away as long as there are people interested in crypto, and I don't see that dying off in the near (or long term) future.

 

Just be careful of coins with very low prices and low trading volume.  Those are the ones destined for the grave.

They normally end up going dead coins, they never completely disappear, once a coins is made there is no undoing it, that is why people trust crypto.

Very nice point. I agree with you that alternative coins can disappear completely from if crypto market shrink further more and more alt coin will start disappearing. Already we are seeing this as competition is getting tough, some of the altcoins are fighting for their survival.

Those coins owners pay fees to be listed on exchanges so they will be unlisted only when they stop paying.

Disappear! no, they do not real disappear, die is a good word to put, those coins are then called dead coins.

As long as there is a community behind the coins they will not disappear. By community I mean people using, mining, and developing the coins. If there is no use case you can already see many dead altcoins that are abandoned. What's interesting is you can revive a dead altcoin as some people have tried to do with the coin hyper, and take over the project for yourself. So even when dead an altcoin can be revived. In that sense altcoins are immortal.

People have been predicting The Great Altcoin Apocalypse for a couple of years now. According to what I remember about at least a few if these predictions mist alts should be gone already.

 

My opinion: when it comes to crypto, nobody knows what's going to happen tomorrow, let alone in the long term.

As a digital asset, yes, but as coin will remain, the architecture of its design makes it remain in time, disappearing a currency is really difficult, now its value can reach zero but that does not make it disappear.

Yes altcoin can be dead coin, but for dissapear i think can't. Because every coin have their blockchain, where that will used for transaction. That blockchain i think will live forever. Also if the market still there to trading that coin. I think that coin will still used. The big chance to dissapear is token, because easy to create and don't need much capital, and also no guarantee to the Ethereum.

i think when it comes to altcoins they depend on the community and how the team members communicate with the community and the stronger the community the longer the coin last, like we see in DGB they have the best community. they will stop the coin from going to 0 because they will buy every dip.

I think that they completely can not, because different coins perform different functions, and are used in different fields. over time, they will become much smaller than now, but they will not completely disappear
