I do not know the main reason that why people think that the long term holding is bad I think that the main reason is that in which people there is no patience because they cannot wait for a long period of time. They want the profit early.

I think long term is not bad . If you wait for results  long time then it's results is more better . It is less risky. You can get a big profit after long term. Short term is very risky but you can see results in few days.

Of course that's a wrong idea but even though some people just can be patient for long time so they prefer doing scalps and swings instead of storing deals , they like to see their balance growing in short times even if it wasn't huge increase , 

for me I like both , I keep part of my balance for storing coins with targets above 10x and I trade with the rest , by following this system I'm always in profit in a short and long term investing
