I got into this in 2013 out of boredom. Was going to put up my old BBS game server back up (was huge) $60 a month it would be in electric and around $2.5k to lever the thing back up with equipment etc. I also had the 'book' version of Game of Thrones Swords ( I got them because I thought George RR Martin was the next Tolkien...I nailed that!) HBO announced Game of Thrones TV Series. So I kept walking by the Swords and  finally sold them all for $2.5K with the other set aside $2.5k I figured I could get a KNC BTC Jupiter miner (It was I think $5,301.80?) instead and looking at difficulty at the time I ordered it (July 2013) I figured it might ROI in 9 months and maybe I'd get another 6 months out of the beast to pay for house utilities before it went doorstop. Also, in 2013 was a big push to help the new thing 'micro-lending' in India and such so I figured what the heck, see if it helps the world. The day I turned it on October 18th, 2013 I think I made ONE BTC a day and BTC at least some time that particular day and cranked the unit up and when I looked, it was at $150 USD per BTC. Thus, you know the rest. Shortly after this, all heck broke loose and the roller coaster ride began.

But in reality, I started it rather than a game server out of boredom and to help micro-lending and maybe pay for its own electric and perhaps some modest return on utilities. So by whatever measure, even if the whole shebang goes full tulips and beanie babies. It has allowed me to retire 3 years early and beena hell of a lot of fun. An yes, I am still in HODL mode. From $18k to $3.2k and now back to $8.6k.

What the heck, some people Skydive or free rock climb or dive with sharks...I HODL...pretty much the same sense of fear/wonder/dread and euphoria for any I guess.

well, unfortunately I'm holding much less than I would like to

1. heard about it at the beginning but paid no attention to it... then heard again in 2016 and joined only at the end of 2017 (september I think)

2. way less 😞

3. sept 2017... don't actually remember the right price but it was around 3700

I was one of those that got into crypto just before the great bull run, but messed it up and didn't get almost any profit... it was not a good time to be a newbie for me

There is still time, and you can collect more Bitcoins in this forum and in Yobit exchange.
Try to earn as much as you can before halving that is soon coming for Bitcoin.

This is the post that should be pinned !

Lets explain about my story, I have heard from a friend in 2013, but i did not interested. But in 2014 starts, i had to make a purchase to prevent any Documentation and i researched alot and Got bitcoin is they which can accept in Netherlands for goods exchanges or dealing. I asked to vendor is he agree to accept Bitcoin then he just reply yes after sometime of conversation.

On january 2 i bought 3 BTC at for 650 Dollars and the owner does not know how to convert it to cash. May be he also got from somewhere and thinking that he scammed. But i know the worth and bought 2000$ of btc in 650$ and i paisa 900$ worth of btc to vendor.

I save some and in 2015,16 i see alot of changes but in July 2016 i moved to Canada for some time and forgot my BTC. in November 2018 i back to country and look for it but dont have time to sale them, I was trading other coins since 2015 regularly but never thought my BTCs. So i sold my BTC at 18000$ in the december 2018. Worth of 30000$ by holding just 1100$ for 3 years. But i dont have much investment now 😛 . Don't spy me guys 😛

1. One buddy told me about Bitcoin in 2010. He bought about 50 BTC for 3€ each. At this time it was too uncertain to me to invest in BTC ( I‘m an idiot)
2. I hold more than 1 BTC 
3. I have bought my first half of BTC in July 2017 with my vacation benefit. The price was about 3600€.

I first heard about btc and crypto currencies 4 years ago when looking for money online. I could not immediately understand what it was and until the last I did not believe that this can really make money. I made my first btc ltc doge on faucets. Then it was quite popular and profitable. You can't imagine my surprise when I first sold coins for real money. Only then did I realize that it really works

There is always time 🙂 I'm one of those guys that just don't give up... 

unfortunately I'm not so good in trading 😂

It is becoming harder and harder to find good bounties that allow some earning... but I'm always on the lookout, and sometimes translation jobs are nice, but after being scammed a few times I tend to be too picky...

i heard about btc in 2015 from my programmer friend, and i bought some bitcoin when it price about $ 4000, and i hold less than 1 btc

I have heard about Bitcoin in 2012 and try to learn more about it. I have invested money and has the some of its share. I buy it in 2015 but at that time prices has been increased.

I found out about bitcoin at the end of 2016 but at that time I was still interested in investing. I started investing in early 2018 and I think it was a late time because the price of coins began to decline. But I am sure that the price of bitcoin and some good altcoins will be able to recover and possibly break the highest price

I heard in 2015 and i use it for betting in that time only 

More than 1 btc equal i keep many coins

İt was approx. 100 usd dollar when i got my first bitcoin 🥺🥺

I see many people here where more lucky than me as they heard about Bitcoin before year 2017 🙂

Some even in 2012, 2014 or 2015... 

I hope we all learned some lesson from this

I have known BTC since 2015. At that time, I had participated in many bounty campaigns and received free BTC, when BTC was in the range of $ 400 - $ 500. Currently I don't have a lot of BTC, under 1 BTC because I hold a few more coins.

Earning BTC is not easy right now. However, earning tokens and altcoins is also quite easy. You can then deposit it on exchanges and sell it for BTC. I still earn BTC if I want, however I spend most of my time holding Altcoin.

1- I heard it long ago. Before 2015. Can't tell the exact year but Let's say I remember Gox.

2- I'll avoid that question, as everybody should.

3- I got my first full coin when the price was $2500

1 - a news where some guy remembered he bought few thousands Bitcoins back in the days and forgot about them.

2 - more or less is always not enough.

Keep them coming and remember that we are rear people maybe only 1% or 2%
that has one thing with total supply of 21,000,000 coins, of witch most is mined 😉

1/ first time hearing about bitcoin was in 2013  from a friend and i shrug it off saying its a scam lol

2/ hodling bellow 1 btc

3/ first bitcoin buy was in early 2017 when the price was between 1100-1200$

2. I hold less than 1 btc.

I know abt bitcoin in 2016. At the moment i hold less than 1btc. I bought it from someone else in 2016 and at very low price compare to now but sadly i have sell it all at low price. Now looking back, i am so regret, hope i still hold btc from the time i bought.

I heard about bit coin from my friend jn 2016.that time  the price was 700$ when i buy.That time i was low on cash so could not buy more btc.Bit later on Btc bull rum i make good money.
