First of all, look at their website and social accounts like telegram discord or twitter. If their website is bad, its a very bad point for them. Then look at the team, if there is anyone known AND if you can check that they are really in the team. Many people use other peoples names into their scam projects. Check LinkedIn, it's the best way to see if it's true or not. Then supply. If it has 10M supply and public sale is 9M, it's a scam. No serious crypto sell more than 20% of total supply.
