Why old topics are not locked

I really good, informative and educative post shouldn't be locked because they are still very useful.so I totally agree with the moderators for leaving such topics open.

I am also with them to keep good and useful topics and I never call for closing such topics, but my question is about some topics that are no longer useful. There were topics that were talking about something that happened and ended and it must end.

Moderators generally tend to lock topics that are no longer useful or that have been inactive for a long period of time. If the conversation topic is still active and there are still comments that are being made in the topic, that are usefully contributing to the topic, then it would remain active.

Thank you for this helpful clarification. Yes, perhaps, these are the reasons that the forum moderators lock old topics, although some members understood that I am asking to close old threads, which is not correct.

I don't think so because moderators are not closing those topic because it still the best for this forum, what i mean it still useful even it is old topic, many member can still benefit to it so that's why moderators are not closing some old topics....

Yes, I know that there are many old and useful topics that are still possible to talk and debate about until now, but in return there are old topics that talk about an event that ended a long time ago and it is no longer useful to discuss it.

If the admins saw an answered questions or a full topic with a good comments they will lock them but if the topic or question need more they will give more time . That what I think .

Because I think the reason why the moderators didn't lock some of old topics is because there are still discussions that is happening on that certain topic and there are some interesting things happening on that topic, I think those are what moderators considering on why they don't lock those topics.

Yes, I said earlier that there are a lot of good old topics that discussions are still revolving around until now, so the forum moderators leave it open. But we also need new topics and members to write new things.

See it is simple because somes posts are really helpfull to the new members as well as old members so the .oderators keeps this type of topic unclosed for all the user to get important and helpfull information.

If we go to the case, answering an old topic is still important this helps the topic appear in the main session and if it continues to be answered after two months it is because the topic is really useful, and brings something good to the forum community,  Remember that there are newbies who are guided by the main session.

As I have seen, almost half of old topics have been locked. If you look at the last pages in each section, you will see lock signs for most topics. But some of them are still open because there is still some hot debate or active discussion in them. This kind of discussion can help to improve the general knowledge of the forum and bring important topics up in first pages again to be seen by new members. This is the reason some old topics are still receiving new content despite having lots of pages and posts.

In fact, I comprise seen several posts bunged by administrators and at this time that after sense your post, I experience noticed that in attendance are a few mature publications that are silent undo until at this time and it seems that it depends on the subject matter of the publications and how central it is

Sorry friend  I don't agree to lock  old topics  You don't  want to respond  but if some one want to respond  he could respond.  So i  don't think that there is need to lock old topics.

these topics were simply made not according to the rules of the forum and they are closed in order to clear comments in them and later delete.

I think that is better, perhaps in order to ask more ideas or find more than an answer to the questions posed, just as that enriches the forum and benefits prevail to everyone.
