Why some people think long term holding is bad?

Recommended Posts

It is even practical, assuming someone bought litecoin when it fall from over $400 to $200, the person invested at $200 think after the fall will be there rise that hold in will pay him, he would have lost, and before litecoin will  be at that price again will be long but instead of holding, traders would have sold the litecoin to cut losses.

We can't blame other people since we have different perspective on how we manage long term or short term holding of coin. Me as beginner i also believe to both it may depends on what suits to you but the very important is never loose hope that the bull run will come soon.

I saw some people saying that long term holders are dumb because they keep holding on the losses and this is a stupid meme. But i don't agree with that, since we believe btc will grow even more. What do you think?

Long term holding is also a good thing if you don't have much time doing crypto currency and you trust it very much. Just think of investing crypto currency way back 2010 and you hold it until now, your income will be big farther than your expectations.

Sadly Bitcoin was completely uknown in 2010. It was just a hundred of people that have heard of it and almost nobody understood its potential. Back then I was in P2P and torrents full time. I never heard of Bitcoin until way later and nor did other people that were more tech savvy than me.

from my perspective i would like to say that hold those coins only which seems to be very stable at any point of time because those coin can make a good profit at the very end of the time.

It is not dumb it is investment and maybe you don't understand how some people think but if you trust a business or an asset then you invest in it for the long term that can be many years even 20 years from now.

You have to understand that not everyone expects to get rich fast but with a plan for many years ahead you can make it.

Is better to separate some cryptocurrencies and fiat money, so if we plan to hold Bitcoins and at same time is better to have some fiat money like usd, because at any moment Bitcoins down, so is an opportunity to buy it, if will grow you sell the other part it... si is good 50/50.

That's right, you also don't want to waste the opportunities that appear. As long as everything is legal and correct, those wishes must be encouraged.

It's better to wait till it bumps i think. I've got friend invested in stellar and he got 100% profit till waited bump, so i trust that it's usefull to hold crypto on your wallet. But i don't have such possibility and i prefer yobit miners to get crypto

That is a matter of taste, for me the hold is the most basic way to invest in crypto is to buy a currency and wait for its price to increase, but many like the trade more because its profit is short-term

I am not think that long term is bad. I am trader and think for short term and how to make good profit in trade that can be day or week time, or better some months. I am not trade to exit trade or with leverege but only on the standart. So long term is not bad it is how you are want to trade.

I think Longterm is not stupid but it is not good for the present time because now there are so many hit and run projects. I think it is better if we invest in that project without taking long. Maybe we can also benefit right?

I absolutely agree with you that long-term investments in cryptocurrency are very risky. History has shown us that it grows for six months, and falls for two years) it is correct to fix the profit while it is at a height, and then buy when it falls again).

I think you have a bad idea that is to hold a coin long term, no one forces you not to sell later / before is simply your conviction.

Unless you use some OP_TIMELOCK option on your coins.

Long term holding is bad for those people that are not patient and want to earn money instantly.

this might depend on what coin you are curently investing in because if you know what you are good to go when to sell and how long you are going to hold it but if you dont know what yoh sre investing and for how long you might reconsider what you are curently investing in

there are different people in the world, everyone thinks differently, taste and color, as they say.  well, I think that people are not ready to wait long to get some kind of profit, people like big bets and big risks

It is up to the stocks or the currency that they store.

If it is decreasing significantly, it must be sold and bear some loss, but if he thinks that his currency will rise more, there is no objection to keeping it to achieve more profits.

Those who think like that are of course those who suffer losses as a result of choosing Long term holding, while those who are successful will certainly not say such things. Logically I think it's normal and just natural isn't it. Just give it back to ourselves, don't think too deeply about rules or knowledge when it comes to profit.

Bitcoin will grow and further this is a fact, but no one knows how quickly it will be, but people, in the hope, keep money for a long time in Bitcoin

If you buy at the top you should not be a holder but exit this investment if things start going downhill, you don't need to way for 3k if price starts dropping from 20k so you sell at 15k or 17 and deal with the loss but have a plan to buy again when the bottom appears.

Long-term holding is just a strategy that can be followed by investors. I do not see any problem in it. I have also made some profits after selling a long-term held coins.

I'm sure they're wrong. Take the same example with bitcoin, those who did not sell it in 2012 but kept it until the last got a good profit from it. People think the longer they hold, the more the price of the currency will decrease, but this is not so.
