The difference is that litecoin is a copy of Bitcoin. The blockchain of Litecoin I think is a fork of Bitcoin and Charlie Lee made the blocks faster and transaction fees are cheaper for some reason. It has also a lot more as total supply that is more than 80 million litecoin.

These coins have different blockchains and they work seperately. Although Bitcoin is better in value and some other aspect, litecoin tend to be faster than Bitcoin and for this reason so many people use litecoin for transfers more than Bitcoin.

The btc broke and ltc was separated i have read this, and ltc and btc are quite similar but the price is completely different and the ltc is also doing good in altcoins section

I am very new at this and forgive me if I'm wrong but I think that I've read that Litecoin is just a copy of the Bitcoin code and the founder only made some changes that he thought would make litecoin faster. It is very old coin one of the earliest and this is why it has some good community.

Litecoin LTC is one of the Altcoin other than oldest Bitcoin. You can find some difference between these two cryptocoins in the crypto world. Bitcoin is highly expensive than litecoin in the cryptocurrency market. And litecoin uses its own blockchain.

Yes both are coins. LTC is litecoin and it appeared some years later and it is just the bitcoin code with a few small diferences. I don't find it very useful but maybe only perhaps because fees are low we can use it in the case we want to transfer some funds between exchanges.

BTC with SHA256 is LTC with the script. Not to mention in terms of price, developer and community factors. So lots of things about the difference between these two coins.

There are many differences, but one of the most important is that the ltc network is faster in processing a payment than bitcoin, another is its price, the transactions per minute, the holders, at this point bitcoin maintains more investors than ltc and the transaction fee, litecoin is cheaper than bitcoin.

Bitcoin and litecoin have a lots of differences but they are all cryptocurrency.  Bitcoin has been in existence since year 2008 while litecoin was created in year 2011. Bitcoin has high value than litcoin. Bitcoin make use of the longstanding SHA-256 algorithm, while litcoin make use of the new algorithm known as scyrpt
