I think this is not matter that you create a topic or reply on a topic. But the thing is that your contact is helpful for members and should contain knowledgeable material related to cryptocurrency. Creating topics makes you get a lot of good reputation, but this is a matter of risking some thing. When you bring up a topic that has already been raised, you will be subject to ban, so I personally prefer making posts as they are better and safer.
Over time I will acquire a strong knowledge base and start creating new topics here

On the comment you can get only one or a few more likes but If your post goes viral, you have a chance of getting a lot of comments, there are chances of getting a reputation So I think we should focus more on making posts and not on comments.

I prefer creating topic one. Because when someone create own topic then every one will give reputation and will follow that person while making comment on topic is not a big deal and mostly no one give any response to comments.

@Scottmc Dear friend, for reputation topic is more than better from posts, but for rewards posts is more than better from topics, because sometimes your repeated topic will delete by the administration this issue will with you, but post have less chances deleting when it is irrelevant with topic, if you have more knowledge about cryptosystem and you can create new and unique topic then it is better than posts,

Well some members fail to understand that is not by total number of topic created or number of comments that makes one to get more reputation rather how he participate in a topics as well as comments on daily basis help in getting good reputation because people wants to learn more.
