$300k BTC in 2021 says Citibank

300k dollars for btc for the year 2021 is somehow too ambiguous, bitcoin is not up to $20k even at as these time, now look at the distances between 300 and 20.

If really banks predicting something like that, maybe there have something that's they have seen in bitcoin i the future maybe mostly of largest financial sector will starting investing in crypto.

I agree but it is better to be more cautious and not risk money we can't afford to lose. I don't trust banks a lot and while they give some numbers for Bitcoin these can all be undone. The market is moved by sentiment, right now it is bullish but it can change and perhaps price won't reach half of the reports we are reading, although I think that it will be higher from $20k for the next year.

It is both strange and surprising to see these overly optimistic statements from banks, Bitcoin's old enemy !!! But in the end, I am not surprised because I have witnessed many Bitcoin enemies join the global Bitcoin club, the last of which is the giant PayPal, and there will certainly be more and more. @saraanna396..Bitcoin is currently priced at 19K.  However, Citibank has predicted that Bitcoin will be priced at 300K.  But I can't accept their predictions.  Because I don't think the price will pump that much in the next one year.  However, everyone seems to buy and hold bitcoin according to their experience.  The price of Bitcoin corrects every year and then its price goes down.  And that then continues to grow.  However, Bitcoin will not be 300K so soon.

I suggest you to look back and read many similar predictions in the past and see what percent of them have really come true. There are tons of predictions by famous people who had claimed that bitcoin would reach or even exceed $100K barrier in 2020. Now, we are at the end of 2020 and bitcoin is still struggling to reach 1/5 of that value! The predictions of 2021 are also as imaginative as the previous ones. I think the shared goal of all these predictions is to inspire people to invest in bitcoin for whatever unknown reason. Skyrocketing from the current value to $300K takes at least a decade to happen and if it takes only one year to happen, then it will be the biggest bubble in history!

I think it is an exaggeration to consider that bitcoin will reach a price of 300,000 dollars in just one year, it would involve many factors that are out of the hands of traders such as the regulations of certain nations or individuals along with the socio-political situations of the world, I I would bet more for a price of 27,000 or 30,000 dollars per bitcoin.

This was not a suggestion by someone like McAfee but a big bank. Citibank is not a joke like some twitter accounts and this prediction is followed by some more coming from other banks like Jpmorgan.

 

On the other hand, I never suggested that price will go this high. I given a report about what a Citibank executive written in a confidential letter inside the bank. I didn't take any side on this post and didn't recommend that Bitcoin will reach $300,000.

 

I have given other times recommendations though that price is bullish and said so when prices were at $10k and $14k that it would go to $20k. But I see your disbelief and probably you have done your own TA about this and have your own statistics to care.

 

We will see with time what will happen, Bitcoin is certainly not struggling at all.

There are a lot of prediction for the Bitcoin but the price of the Bitcoin is not able to cross the $20,000 and if that does not happen then the Bitcoin can not be able to reach the $300k target.

I only said that this kind of predictions are abundant but many of them have failed to come true. Many people take them seriously and start buying bitcoin at extremely high prices because they think it will be even higher in the future. Bitcoin still has not experienced $50K once in its life let alone $300K! Price rises usually happen step by step. If bitcoin is supposed to jump from $20K to $300K in just one year, it will be the most extraordinary phenomenon mankind has ever seen!

I think that 50% or 60% drop is too much, but it has happened before for Bitcoin. If for any reason it goes again to $10,000 you can imagine people selling their house and car to buy Bitcoin. I think it can crash again but not too much, perhaps at a maximum 20% or 30% in the rarest occasion because the reaction will be sharp and the selling will be absorbed immediately.
