Can alternative coins disappear completely?

Recommended Posts

I do not have such concerns, it is true that Altcoin does not have the power of Bitcoin, but there are a lot of good Bitcoins like ETH, TRX, ADA, LTC and many more, of course, which are long gone and are semi-stable and have a good future, so I think there is no need to worry.

Those types of currencies are very bad friend but instead of when some very good ones come out, I don't really know what can happen with these cryptocurrencies, friend, we just wait between a few years, maybe all the alternatives disappear friend.

It is not possible that the coins are removed from the network or from the blockchain but it is possible that the people do not use it anymore and there is no more use of the coins and they disappear from the market.

There are many coins that have disappeared because most of the gods left the project so the community will no longer support it and the shit project may not survive long either.  It is rare that we see a coin that can survive for a long time even if the project is scattered or the gods abandon it.

In any case, the majority of them are going to zero. If they do not vanish, it ensures that they will cease to be traded on exchanges and that no further progress will take place for a long time. Also, if they had their own chain, the last miner would have to turn off his hardware, and no one would be able to mine the coins for a few weeks. This will imply that no new transactions are feasible and that the coin has reached the end of its useful life.

a bad thought, but there is always such a possibility. because alternative coins do not have good communities and do not have enough forces to survive for long. If not today, tomorrow, if the crypto money market narrows further, they may all shrink and disappear. do you have such a concern?

Yeah of course they dissapear, if they lose their price and if no one invest on them then they have a chance to get lost and that's not what the developers want, their are some coins which have lost their price and dead tokens.

I have no concerns, I am buying the penny stock altcoins when they are at rock bottom and selling htem later. I see them as hopeless and most of them are just scammers hiding behind a facade. I don't trust any of the networks and I can't verify them as I am not a programmer. Take a look at IOTA which was supposed to be decentralized, yet there was a centralized option for devs to shut down the whole Tangle network. Wtf are we supposed to believe?

Developers that tell us that they audited the code and that IOTA was decentralized? It wasn't. How about Bitcoin? We trust that the code is flawless and there won't be more than 21 million BTC ever? Yes we do as we have been told that the code is the bible. And what happens in not one but two occasions? An inflation bug that one time was exploited in the early Bitcoin days, and the second time it was found by a BCH dev that notified the Bitcoin team about it. So we have to blindly trust the code, which we can't read on our own, and everyone is telling us don't trust verify, etc. Nonsense. How can we verify and trust the code when the code is not perfect and when it is just a handful of people in the whole world that can read the code. And even them, they are always looking for bugs which may appear at any time.

hello my friend because alternative coins do not have good communities and do not have enough forces to survive for long. Before ten years ago we can not imagine that but now we can expect that but maybe this thing need to twenty years at little to make the crypto currencies as the the main currencies.

curious to discuss UOP. There is lack of transparency on music field, not many favs on the field. The Utopia Open Platform (UOP) is the ecosystem for the tokenized song. The UOP receives data from the existing Utopia Music Platform, which collects commercial music consumption and copyright data from numerous sources. Over the past 3 years, it has collected over 3 billion data points ‘Genesis’ will be the first application on the UOP. Through Genesis, users will be able to plug into this data to keep track of songs, compositions, artists, writers, composers, record labels, releases, radio stations, DSPs, standard identifiers and much more. Whether you are an artist, a producer, or a record label, you will be able to see where, how, when and with whom the music is performing best

Of course I have such a concern. At the end of the day all these coins are virtual and feeding from people who trade and work with them, there is no attachment to the real world and I think there is big possibility that one day they will disappear.

In truth, many altcoins are bound to disappear, but not all altcoins. There are many valuable altcoins on the market, and such coins will remain as long as the cryptocurrency remains. This is my own opinion.

If many alt coins even if not all are bound to disappear isn't that a risk we are taking even trying to invest in these coins? or would we know when they are about to disappear so that we would be in safe zone?

I think that they completely can not, because different coins perform different functions, and are used in different fields. over time, they will become much smaller than now, but they will not completely disappear.

    • Bitcoin 2 is a A EVM-compatible Bitcoin Fork With Real Time Settlement Satoshi got a lot  right about Bitcoin but a lot has changed since 2008. First off digital scarcity hadn't been discovered when Satoshi created Bitcoin. Now that digital scarcity has been bootstrapped we can make use if it in the protocol as a proxy for Schelling points.  This allows transactions to settle in real time and enables token holders to be paid validation fees which make the asset more valuable. Also, smart contracts didn't exist to the extent that they do today. Bitcoin 2 is an EVM compatible chain which means it has the same smart contract functionality as Ethereum. Bitcoin 2 was created by the infamous bonermuncher69 and is maintained by an anonymous set of core developers around the world. What's changed? Bitcoin 2 Is An EVM-compatible Chain This will give developers the opportunity to deploy smart contracts on Bitcoin 2. Being an EVM chain allows Bitcoin 2 to leverage all of the existing blockchain infrastructure built around Ethereum. Bitcoin 2 users can use EVM-chain wallets like Metmask and the Ethereum development community can deploy smart contracts to Bitcoin 2 using their favorite development tools. Bitcoin 2 Settles In Real Time. Bitcoin 2 has a new validation process to enable a better user experience when interacting with the protocol. Users send transactions to block proposers who include transactions in blocks in real time. That saves users from having to wait to see if their transition will be included in a block or not. Transactions are then validated by Bitcoin 2 token holders after the fact in 10 minute intervals like they were in Bitcoin 1. Transaction Fees are Paid to Validators As of 2024 Bitcoin users pay miners about $2M in fees every day. When Satoshi designed the Bitcoin protocol, digital scarcity had not been bootstrapped yet. Now that digital scarcity exists we can pay users for use of their coins in the validation process to build a Schelling point around each block. Turning Bitcoin into revenue generating asset makes holding the tokens more lucrative than Bitcoin 1. The Software is Rewritten From the Ground Up Bitcoin the software is not Bitcoin the token or Bitcoin the idea. The core node has been rewritten from the ground up in Rust. It has also been massively simplified where possible. What Stays The Same: There Will Only Ever be 21 Million Bitcoin 2 in Existence. Bitcoin 2 has zero inflation. Validators are paid soley by transaction fees. This makes Bitcoin 2 the most scarce digital asset in existence. The Set of Token Holders (at the 4th Having) Bitcoin 2 forked at the 4th halving: block 839,999. Any utxo in that set will be spendable on the Bitcoin 2 network. No new coins will be issued. That means, BlackRock, Micheal Saylor, Jack Dorsey and Elon musk all hold the keys to Bitcoin 2 tokens. Whether they spend them is still to be determined.
