Investing in USDT = Yes or No?

Since Tether does not allow an audit then it is obviously shady and shouldn't be trusted. Claiming to back 9 Billion with USD and other collateral does not work. Show us the money and the collateral otherwise gtfo. It's simple as that. Show us the cash flows and the data. The balances and the loans. I wouldn't trust Tether at all and do not trade USDT pairs. It will be MtGox all over again, remember this.

I usually use USDT just to save my fund income from trading and staking crypto asset , because the price of USDT is stable and i dont worry for lose amount tommorrow or , i usually do it for short therm until i withdraw to FIAT, for long therm investment i didnt recommended because the price didnt going up, you better invest in gold or another glory ore.

I do not understand much what you mean and what investment is a system that is increasing in value, while USDT the stable currency of the company Tether this is a currency that maintains a fixed value with respect to high value fiat currency. And if you mean to change your cryptocurrencies to this stablecoins if it is very good and one of the most used in this ecosystem but personally I prefer to use Dai.

YES, in my country our local currency is losing value and i want to keep my money safe with exchanging it to usd but depositing my usd to a exchange is really hard. i am buying usdt and usdc with my local currency and trading with my usdt. i am not losing at value lose and trading wtih my money :)

Investing, I do not do it in USDT, what I do with this stable currency is to freeze my money at the time of an unexpected downward movement of any currency, I always have a currency and I am aware of the movement, if it goes up to a level that I see acceptable I change it to USDT, likewise if it goes down not to lose. I believe that the stable coins are very important when using cryptos

Any stable coins cannot be reliable because they all have a manager. Honestly I don't trust USDT considering it is pegged at 1:1 to the US dollar, no fixed supply, I wouldn't keep my assets in USDT for long time. At one time, the value of USDT had dropped to $0.92.

I don’t really see the point of investing in a token that maintains its value with its fiat counterpart since its value will remain the same and will not yield any gains. Well unless you are using a different fiat currency than USD then you are basically forex trading. However, a lot of traders use USDT as a transitional token to avoid losses during price drops of other cryptocurrencies they invested in. This saves them the trouble of converting their investment to fiat currency and back again to invest on other tokens.

I think USDT doing something wrong. Every time the whales print USDT, it means that the market is about to be pumped up. But I'm quite concerned about printing so much money. I am afraid that the amount of money printed too much will affect the market in the coming years.

the thing is u should be carfully with tether since alot of rumors even with proof are going around that they are not really 1:1 to the usd dollar so u might consider orther stable coins for example like usdc from coinbase or pax standard which are legit and proofn to be 1:1 backd by usd and ur on the safe site actually.

This to me is custodial service and doesnt consider inflationary factors.

Same with usdt. You can keep you money there but dont expect returns since it is a stablecoin. It basically offer custodial service and help guard against high volatility when you can risk hold in other crypto.

Tether is wildly supported and if its not trusted then many people won't be using it to trade anymore. So for now, it is safe as long as people are using it for trading. But if you think it's not safe then there is another stable coin like DAI that it is decentralized.

USDT is not an investment.

You are right @smithk people invest to get returns, about USDT is not ideal for that, but USDT is like a rescue zone. Is a stable coin, some times when the market convert to the crazy volatile movement prices, we don't miss the opportunity to exchange our coins to the USDT until the turbulence goes away!

Tether is a stable currency and can be used to store crypto in a stable way but it cannot make you earn profit. Yes, if somewheres's local currency is declining as compared to USD then they can expect some profit.

Honestly speaking with the accusation happening around about Tether and how they operate, I begin to doubt it, I'm already use Tether for a long period to convert my BTC and Altcoins after my trading session for that day is finish, But due to the accusation in Tether, I Begin to shift to BUSD as my stablecoin for value safekeeping.
