Most new generation smartphones have a self-protection and antivirus app, well, Xiaomi's smartphones do. Only use trusted apps especially those you get from market place So, to be on the safer side, it is advised to disable installation of apps from unknown sources. Go to settings > security on your android smartphone and you will see an option of 'Install apps from Unknown Sources', make sure that is switched off. Apart from that activate playstore protect when you are using android phone

Yes, Kaspersky is one of the best security for mobile application that i know. You can also try Norton, i have use it for a long time so i recommend it. Its good to have one of this apps because they help in protecting your phone from different attackers.

There are many applications on playstore or other apps of moblie companies that  have thousands of applications on it which work to protect your phone but many of them are fake but some of them are work on it. In my opinion the free tools application are not save for ours mobiles because of our personal data which we save in our mobile.
