No they cannot. BTC itself present deflationary savings model with no utility usage. Blockchain can supply much more for example Dapps. Even BTC, ETH and Ripple (for inter bank transactions) are not enough because there are too many businesses where blockchain applications can be employed.

But i have seen some coins ressurected to a purpase based coin.

What is the defintion of alternative? If you mean that is every crypto currency except bitcoin, then no there will be alternatives like ethereum, ripple, monero, litecoin to name a few big coins. 

But if you mean by alternative of a crypto who has nobody ever heard of, those will be also stay exisiting, but only a few of them will survive. Most small alt-coins are now worthless.

disappear ?? there won't be .. Altcoin is an alternative currency after Bitcoin, as long as there are many investors watching and trading Altcoin and don't think Altcoin is going to die. I am sure that in the future cryptocurrency will become an alternative currency and its existence will be recognized by the government, but not everyone will receive recognition, it is likely that only those with potential have great opportunities ..

I really doubt that alternative coins can disappear someday, some altcoins could be disappearing as bitcoin takes off, of course there are some altcoins that are also benefiting from the success of Bitcoin too. But altcoin momentum has weakened generally.

I think that if some alternative currencies are abandoned or the community is no longer interested in the project and they went to the most popular alternative currencies, but if it must exist for it to compete with bitcoin

A lot of alternative coins disappear daily because they are not able to bear the competition in the market. But at the same rate new coins appear and replace them so it is very difficult to completely remove them.
