Not for all cryptocurrencies but only ERC20 tokens. For bitcoin and coins that are not belonging to ethereum platform, it can not be used. And also like recommended storing high amount of coins on hardware wallet is best even the so called ERC20 tokens.

Good advice ! In case of MyEtherWallet, at least developers have invested a long time for creating it and recently they have enabled Ethereum 2.0 staking feature inside MEW. Regarding the safety of MEW, I have no issue with it yet.

near about every wallet is safe and secure. you don't need to affraid. if you want to prevent your account from hacking then you shoudl carefull about fake links. if you click on fake links and attach these to your wallet then your wallet can be hacked. otherwise no one can hack your wallet
