You are right about about this in one aspect, normally if your computer is safe from malware, that mean your wallet is also safe, that is clear and understandable. But, what if you computer is safe but your seed phrase or private key is known to hackers where you backed it up? That means your computer can be safe but your wallet compromised.

Myetherwallet is just for ethereum platform, I like the wallet for its security but I prefer other wallets that support ethereum platform and also other cryptocurrencies, good example is coinomi. But, if it comes to security, myetherwallet is good also.

just keep your backup phrase in good place, do not allow anyone other than you to have access to your password, no person can access your account without this data, therefore keep this stored in very safe places that no one but you know where to find it.
