The answer is yes but I think whales do that not exchanges. Whales using bait release with rumors and try to invite people to join market and gonna with your money. Not fair for us but this method is already exist and mostly works. Need big money and fundamental knowledge for execute, if you feel something wrong with market movement just leave it, it could be them.

@Rehaan Yes, price manipulation in some exchanges is a truth that many of us know, this manipulation tries to increase the volume of the coins to make believe that the exchange has high liquidity, when in fact it is very low,
thus they try to keep users doing operations on a false basis that at some point explodes and then problems and closures come, that is why we must not leave coins in the exchanges and we must do trade in which there is truly a serious team of work .
