i don't know how was the situation that time but when it comes to BTC i don't prefer to hold it when the prices are fallen , i would convert to USDT and buy it at low price then hold it until the price increase again since it always does , this way i will be able to made a decent profits by using both methods you mentioned

I have one rule in trading - i have 60% in altcoins which can give me profit and 40% is reserved in case if the market is not behaving normally. I hold Bitcoin in this 40% and can  use to trade if needed. I think this is the best rule for each trader and not put all the eggs in one busket.

I think stabel coin is not good for investment because stabel coin will only have a stable value so we better look for coins that have the potential to develop and the price is still cheap so the possibility to get profit will be easier.

Stable coin or Bitcoin depends on what you need if you want to keep your money without risk would be a good option the stable coin, now if you want to make a profit you must risk and take advantage of the volatility of the BTC which if you know how to manage can give you very good profits, it all depends on you want to increase your capital and get profits or just save it.

Bitcoin was created to protect you against inflation, that is one of the reasons why many investors take it today as a refuge, the stablecoin serves to freeze the price of an asset, in this case the cryptocurrency that you want.

if you have a clear vision of where the market will move,
It is good to see and then buy to make a profit, but having btc is always a good option.

I use Bitcoin for altcoin trading.
The most famous stablecoin is the Tether Dollar (USDT) which is used for trading other cryptos but also to secure its earnings when cryptos fall.
Originally it was used on trading platforms without fiat but now it is found everywhere.
It is also of interest in some countries for fiscal reasons because these countries only tax exchanges between crypto and fiat and therefore it is better to convert your cryptos into USDT rather than USD.
But beware that stablecoin does not mean really stable it means stable with the asset that it replicates. Besides the dollar is not stable.
There can be stablecoin on anything, this is called tokenization.
Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) is an ERC20 backed 1:1 token with BTC therefore a BTC stablecoin.
The WBTC has also a great success thanks to DeFi which is essentially built around Etherum technologies and it allows the use of tokenized BTC with smart contracts.
There may be stablecoins on gold for example GOLD at Yobit.
Maybe one day a stablecoin indexed on an asset will gain the upper hand over BTC, no one can know in the long term but I do not think in the immediate future, so we can continue to hold BTC for those who believe in it .

For investment I prefer bitcoin because it is an asset with a lot of future but if I want to save a part of my capital I prefer to have it in stable currencies like Theter.

it all depends on the strategy you want to use. you can keep your capital in a stable currency. And when bitcoin goes down enough, buy with that currency and when it goes up, sell. so that you get your earnings

In my experience, it is best to buy bitcoin in a stable currency like usdt.  When the price of Bitcoin is dropping.  And store them until the price rises in the same stable currency.  But there should be abundant profit.  With a portion of both currencies held because the market is volatile and the price changes a lot.  The bottom line is that every trader needs to have a balance of Bitcoin and the stable currency at the same time.

Using both as option will be better than choose one, with stable coin is stable, with Bitcoin always with volatile price, but trading Bitcoin you can get a lot profits than keep them as stable coin, of course you assume the risk of losses!

не я считаю что биткоином уже не выгодно играть! альткоины вот это тема! только  надо выбрать конкретную монету и изучить дорожную карту!

I prefer to exchange my Bitcoin's to USDT, when BTC is dumping. And when BTC price will start growing, I buy it. This is good strategy and I safe a lot of money because of it. I suggest to exchange your BTC when its starting dump.

Personally I prefer bitcoin, even though it is such a volatile currency you can make profits from it when its value is high if you made a fairly high previous investment, I think stable coins serve as a refuge to freeze our profits if we are in a market in a down trend and we don't want to have significant losses.

I think the drops are temporary and you should stay with BTC or buy more while waiting for the bull market.

Everything varies depending on the time and context, if I see that the market is intermittent and there is not something clear where it is headed I would choose to use a stable currency, but if there are somewhat clear indications that it will rise in a short time I would not hesitate to use bitcoin and take advantage of the rise, it is all a matter of perspective.
